Agree 100% with the vacation take. I’m always exhausted when I go away with family/friends, trying to make sure everyone is having a good time. My annual solo trips to Poland are my peaceful escapes, wandering around and exploring at my own pace.

Lublin is a very peaceful, historic and beautiful city. Not far from Warsaw. You can get there in no more than two hours by train. I recommend visiting the museum of the former German Nazi concentration camp Majdanek, which is located just outside the city. It would be reached easily by public city tram in just 20 minutes. Huge area with preserved prisoner barracks and whole infrastructure including the gas chambers and crematorium. The Nazis did not manage to destroy the camp when retreated from the city in a hurry in 1944. Admission to the museum of concentration camp is free. There is also the National Museum at Lublin Castle with preserved medieval Holy Trinity Chapel. The walls are covered with frescoes originated from the 15th century, really impressive world heritage sign . Lubliners are friendly and the food is delicious.

That's right - money doesn't buy you peace and does not buy you love. Lublin is a little bit sleepy but it is a student town. I got raised in Lublin area many years ago but still Lublin is my favorite town in Poland.

If you like peaceful and atmospheric places you should visit some old polish cemetaries. And if you’re still in Lublin I’d recommend visiting one on Lipowa street. It is right in the city centre, not far from the places you walked around in this video. And when in Warsaw Powązki cemetery is a must. Many beautiful alleys to walk and many most remarkable Polish people buried.
