This was me my first few trips to Costco. I've learned to temper that enthusiasm. Mostly. But just for fun I like to call my wife and ask if I can get ____ because "it's a great deal". Like a 24 oz can of Parmesan cheese or a 50 lb bag of rice. But I do buy the 72 count Waffles because I have 4 hobbits who eat. All. Day. Long. Second breakfast anyone?

The Serrano ham is awesome! My brother got one for the family for Christmas this year and it was amazing. Just make sure that you slice it as thin as possible when carving and that you store it at night properly. With 7 adults it lasted 2 weeks and we ate it every day with our own little happy hour.

I can't even tell you how much this hit home with me. I've bought so many unnecessary things at Costco. I even tried to convince my husband to get that exact Bevy Bar. LOL! Great song!!!

Hi! Spaniard here! Gotta say, I was legitimately surprised to see a jamón serrano in Costco. I know we export it, but I always thought it was mostly the same plastic packages with several slices most people get here-not the whole leg! Lol. And yes, jamón serrano doesn't need preservatives or anything because of the process it undergoes. We always have a leg every Christmas in my family, and it can easily last up to six months out in the open, covered by a thin cloth at most. Fun fact(s): 1) It is called 'serrano' because of the custom of curing the ham in high places in the sierras (highlands), where the low temperatures facilitate curing. 2) The best (most expensive) kind of jamón serrano is the one called 'pata negra' (literally, black leg). It comes from a mostly black breed of Iberian pigs that are fed exclusively with acorns-that's what gives it it's incredible flavour! 3) The best jamón ibérico out there is the one called Cinco Jotas. Well, that's all. I just hope you guys enjoyed it. It is one of the highlights of Spanish gastronomy for a reason :)
