crit chance and crit damage scales way better late game than base damage does. once you hit 500~ base damage even a gold damage upgrade isnt as good as a blue crit damage upgrade at 100% crit chance

I have never played this game and have only watched DF play it. Incredibly infuriating when DF does a 180 and picks up an unrelated upgrade. I'll still watch.

any time you have the chance to get the mirror perk that bounces projectiles off the screen edge you should get it. combined with enough piercing or bounce shots, it's lethal.

It's funny that Df finally listened to the comments.

Gaining damage seemed hard in the beginning but damn the end

instantly pushed onto my recommended, nice.

The health on dash ain't worth it too early, it increases the dash cooldown way too much. And when there's a horde a bounce is as good as a pierce, it's just a pierce in the opposite direction.

One of the most fun combos to do is an AOE build. If you get any AOE damage and slows and build AOE range, Crit Damage, Crit, and Damage type upgrades it makes the game stupid easy. I had my longest runs that did not even require me to fire the crossbow. Also the upgrades where you heal when you dash, gain damage when you dash, and use/regain all dashes at once gets stupid damage. I had this combined witht he AOE build and a ton of dashes to hit about 20k damage. It was kinda nutty.

The shotgun character is indeed a dashy one, the lack of pierce got u good, but go for at least 50% cdr then crit chance and never stop moving lol Good stuff nonetheless DF.

the opposite is also true... with only bounce you can do rubber bullet that bounce infinitely in the late game... even more so with this character

It's been my Routine for 1 month now to wacth DFs vids every evening before bed

Swaps 30% movement speed for 30% damage… later. “I wish I had more movement speed.” Previous episodes. Shots deal double damage, Half as accurate, DF fights a boss and then “half my shots aren’t even doing anything”.

"I didn't really give that a lotta thought, but I never really do." Wait, DF thinks? TIL

In order to get and deal the most damage in the game, actually picking damage or attack speed is pointless. Everything you choose should go to cooldown reduction (highest priority), dash count, and crit chance/damage. The 3 most crucial items to get are Reckless rush (purple), Soothing escape (blue) and Steam Boots (purple and you need to have gotten 6 dash slots on any previous run). What this allows you to do is to take 1 damage when you dash, gain 5 base damage, the soothing boots immidately heal that one damage, and the steam boots allow you to use all dashes at once, and more importantly restore all dashes at once. Meaning if you have 10 dash slots, a single dash increases you damage by 50 (more than any damage upgrade even mythical), and then all dash slots are restored as soon as one dash slot is regained, and the lower your cooldown the better as you can use it every second or 2. Any items that add effects to your dashes, reduce cooldowns (which there are you just need to beat some specific achievements), or effects that trigger when damage is taken (as every dash will count toward that) will make it much better. Also PS. The ability "Pong" is the most overpowered ability for any build besides the dash one I just mentioned. Normally excessive peirce or bounce results in your bullets leaving the screen, especially with bosses. The "Pong" ability makes it so bullets will bounce off the edges of the screen max 2 times and hit enemies again. If you stand still while attacking a boss you can get the bullets to bounce back perfectly making it so a single bullet strikes the boss 3 times reliably and you don't have to get close. When hoards of enemies come the bullets basically never stop killing enemies and the whole screen turns into bullet chaos.

I wonder if you could do a build thats for the slowest projectile speed. So that basically you have a wall of bullets that stay on screen forever lol. It might glitch the game if you're lucky

Your issue df was you had a lot of dashes, but you didn’t upgrade the amount of time it took to refresh the dashes IE cooldowns
