7K redline.....Yep. Can't beat a Honda. I had a 1991 Honda CRX HF and the engine blew keeping up with 90 MPH traffic in Atlanta on I-75....original clutch and all I ever did was change the oil at each 4,000 miles, changed the alternator once and three sets of brake pads. Got over 50 MPG most of the time. AC never quit....always blew cold. The car ended up dying on I-75 at 90MPH....with 689,352 miles on the odometer. I was hoping for a million.....I miss that car.

@gwsheipang I’ve still seen Canadian cars with high mileage ( over 500,000 km ). Our old tenant is still driving her 2004 Matrix with 400,000 km still drive’s pretty much just like it did 19 years ago. It’s a Kamloops car, only a rust spot from a scrape on the rear door, no other places. Other than the front struts being blown that’s the only thing wrong with it. As long as you rinse salt off regularly & wax the paint so salt doesn’t stick the cars won’t rust.

As an owner of 88-91 Prelude's, 88 Concerto, 89-92 Accord, 93-96 Accord, 92-98 Honda, CR-X Del Sol and even the 88-91 CR-X and still own them all, I can say they all have their original engines and transmissions and many still on the original ECU, starter, alternator, distributor, power steering pump etc. They are a pleasure to drive, pleasure to do routine maintenance, saved me lots of break downs and angst compared to buying others. PS: They not only saved me lots of money from depreciation, they are actually making me money now that they are appreciating.

Ive had my1994 honda del sol si for 8 years now. Ive never had any problems with it ever. I bought it for 500. Bucks. It looks great. Its not stock though. But its beautiful. Its perfectly designed. Luv it and its still my daily driver. I mean i get more looks from people then my blown 70 camaro. I have no emblems on it. So a lot of kids will ask me what kind of car is that its cool. And you know scotty its enjoyable to work on. For reals! Im still as excited about it as i was when i bought it. My insurence is on 49 a month because it a coupe. I only have liabilty because any thing else is a waste of money when you look at the blue book. But everything works great.

I work traveling around US, usually I do 6k-7k miles per month, the company only has corollas and accords between 2002-2010, most of the cars have more than 400k miles, I started with an accord with 780k miles, so yeah, Scotty is right about Honda and Toyota

Have 03 accord with 292000+ miles original engine Transmission just now changed the starter and ac compressor failed almost few months apart Other than that Nothing but Normal service oil filter and break jobs. Suspension just only replaced at 270000 miles . Worth every penny on this car. 😀😀😀😀

A Civic Del Sol with a hitch ? Sort of like buying the best TV only to watch infomercials. If towing is on a weekly basis, a small used truck or SUV made for the job would be ideal. Cheers to Scotty.

Hmmmm; Scotty, you need to come to Montana!! In the mountains it’s cooler in the summer. BUT; in Billings or the plains, it can get hot. Here in Billings we went over 100° multiple times;10x or more, this last summer! Unusual yes, but It gets hot enough!!! AC is important here.

As well as the MX5 there's also the Corvette and the MR2 also had a pretty good run, so I wouldn't say ALL two seaters fail. Honda had the NSX (marketed as Acura in N/A) which also had a pretty good run.

Montana does get hot in the summer. Missoula hit 90 degrees for 22 days in a row last summer. But it is a dry heat. It was so a dry last summer in Montana that almost a million acres burned.

We get easily in the 90s here in MT during the summer. Luckily he could just take the top off. I drove for years without working AC. Sometimes used cooking towels around my neck. Also my ‘89 dodge caravan has the crotch vent that can be opened to let outside air in. Those work really well. Which they still made trucks with the opening corner windows. A lifesaver if you don’t have any AC
