So helpful! I was wondering why the punch in effects were different while holding shift than when on the performance track. This is a vid I'll def watch again.

No worries. I am glad that people seem to learn something from it. Arrangement can be a daunting task, but the OP-Z has nice tools to make it simpler.

Man, there is SO much great stuff in here. I understand most of these things individually, but combining them is so powerful and definitely requires some good planning.

@@SONWU your vid inspired me to put together a more “complete” track than I have previously done on the OP-Z today. I will say that I wish you could sequence mute groups. Am I missing something or do you kind of have to “perform” that?

@@SONWU the way you programmed the punch-in effects is the priceless part for me. Even though I knew you can program it’s track your detailed explanation is top notch. Respect! P.s. Would’ve been nice to see you record some automations for parameters even if just to showcase. Sorry, if you’ve done it and I’ve somehow missed it.

Good tutorial, but I have the same problem you hace in this video, when I use the punch in effects to mute a single drum track until the end of the pattern, the first step is not muted and ignores it, I remember that you explained how to fix this bug in another video but I cant find it, can you explain it?
@SONWU
@SONWU 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! If I remember correctly, you have to start muting on the last step of the previous sequence…you can even shift that step all the way right, in order to not mute too early. Let me know if that works for you!

@SONWU
@SONWU 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The way of chaining them is quite simple: 1. press&hold the project button/ 2. press play / 3. press the patterns in the order you want them to play. hope this helps!

I don't understand what you're doing at 19:50. Your snare track appears to be 16 steps with the minimum step size, i.e. a 1-bar loop. You then record your holding duck for about 3 bars, then let go of duck during the 4th one. But since this track is one bar long, it is should not be able to record a 4 bar punch in effects sequence, right ? You'd have to use a spark component to have the op-z ignore the punch in effect during the 4th bar. Or am I missing something ?
@SONWU
@SONWU 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Good questions. The answer lies in the length of the step components track. The length of the snare track itself doesn't matter in this case, as the punch in fx will record to the punch in fx track. Even when using the fx on single tracks. Hope thios makes sense :)
@simboubou
@simboubou 3 жыл бұрын
@@SONWU Aaaah, I think I mixed up step components (which are linked to the current track, and you need component sparks to achieve the above effect) and punch in effects (which are link to the master track even when playing them on a specific track). Thats actually neat indeed: set the master track to 8 bars, and just record some punchin effects to get some variations out of a one bar loop. Sweet ! Thanks :)
