I'm currently in high school in Australia and it's really great! Except in Australia, pretty much every school has a uniform, so heartbreak high doesn't really show that. But it's great other wise!

Okay so a few things coming from someone who recently graduated from high school in Australia: -At 2:15 like 95% of schools in Australia require uniforms (which makes Heartbreak High incredibly inaccurate in that regard), but super expensive private schools often have those blazers and hats. The joke "nice car, Centrelink" is a reference to a national social security service that offers forms of aid for those struggling financially. Hartley High is a public school, and these are ultra-private school students, so the joke's there. The following moment after Amerie throws her drink on him and she calls him a r*pist, is also probably a reference to the numerous sexism allegations that Sydney ultra-private schools have had in recent years, particularly single-sex boys schools. -I would say this show is pretty accurate when in comes to depicting the Australian high school experience. I went to a Catholic school in a regional area (this is set in a major city, for those who didn't catch it) so my experiences probably differ quite a lot, but the kind of crazy shit that happens in this show is not super far off the kind of stuff that happened at my school/ in my area. The party culture is super accurate and the way people speak is too. For a long time, I didn't get why American teen shows had such an emphasis on popularity in schools until I saw Heartbreak High and realised it's probably a US thing, cuz at least for me, I didn't give two shits about whether I was friends with "the popular kids". Don't get me wrong, there definitely are those cliques, but I feel like it's a lot more fluid here and there are a lot more social drifters. -At 12:05 I can guarantee you, speaking from past experience, that those "pretty beaches" become breeding grounds for a plethora of wonderful spiders and lizards, especially in the summertime. -17:25 unfortunately, at least at my Catholic school, this was basically the extent of our sex ed. We had a 3 day camp about abstinence where they had people come in and talk about how good waiting for marriage is/was for them. They also split us into gendered groups where the boys got taught about "what it means to be a man" and the girls got taught about "how to express emotions" ...yeah it sucked. I will definitely be sticking around for more Heartbreak High reactions cuz...brace yourself girl 🫠.

Fun fact: this was filmed like 30 mins away at a school some of my friends go to, and also most private school boys uniforms look like that, like blazers and proper trousers
