As a pilot watching Louis’ vlogs always made me sad you didn’t get more credit for just the sheer amount of planning and stress you’ve gone through, you deserve much more credit you flew a Cessna around the world alone! (minus when you flew with Matt)

This is the prime example of what aviation is all about: setting forth a goal, managing all the risks, preparing yourself for success, and crossing the finish line overcoming all the obstacles. The story you and Louis told with this trip is phenomenal on so many levels.

As a retired USAF C-130 driver (weather reconnaissance and rescue), I congratulate you on your magnificent accomplishment. Flying C-130s sometimes 14-16 hours (with internal benson tanks), "4" engines turning and burning, no big deal, but you my friend, impressed me with your calm professionalism. Well done. Clear skies and tailwinds.

Exactly, the idea of this adventure its great, but it was focus on 1 and single point, and thats why this series do not reach the clouds unfortunately. JP should video each of his step doing the job for the pane for the flight plan and all other stuff, because I know that preparing a flight its not a easy task, and it will make this series so much more attractive and special. Instead of the 4 minutes of Louis talking bored things at the end of each episodes, they should use these 4 minutes for the JP job.

I disagree with many of the comments criticizing Louis' role here. He wasn't very helpful with the technical side while flying but if he is not experienced he would do more harm if he didn't choose to stay out of the way like he did. Perhaps he could have been more intentional to ask if he could be of help but perhaps he did off camera. Louis mentioned in his vlogs that he was trying to learn along the way and that he knows the amount of education that goes into flying around the world which is admirable. Also I'm not entirely sure how much Louis did behind the scenes to make this flight possible but I'm sure it was most likely an immense contribution. His main job on the flight seemed to be to document it thoroughly and beautifully, which he did. I think both deserve admiration here (as well as Matt when he joined).

The most courageous part of this was doing it as a single pilot. I did not realize the nature of this venture until I watched one of Louis’ vlog episodes where he said he had no pilot training. I would think that basic VFR training and some mission-specific IFR instruction would have been prudent.

I was a Cessna pilot in So Cal in 1973 I was 21. Still have all my charts logbook etc. I can see not much has changed except the digital displays, for example flight plans are still required. I recalled, you could file a flight plan in the air. My call sign was 23 Quebec (with information Lima, Romeo etc) Many landings included mild to strong cross winds. Had to dip the wings a bit with right rudder. I believe it was called a crab landing Cross country flights for me was San Diego, Bakersfield, LA, Palomar. Crossing the Atlantic and Pacific in a Cessna is at another insane level, but can be done as you shown. Thanks for sharing your video around the world in a Cessna! Great accomplishment!!!

Telling someone they can’t be a pilot isn’t good for general aviation. It’s a shrinking community because people believe they can’t do it when in reality it’s very achievable. Louis could easily learn to fly. Pilots want more people to fly and they want the community to grow.

What more of their videos. It is clear as a bell that Louis doesn't have the mindset to be a pilot. Louis has other gifts but spending that much time in the plain and he doesn't trust him to keep it level says a lot.

I absolutely LOVE this pilot (think his name is Jamie). He's young but he's pure old school...all business...knows his stuff...totally keeps his head in the game. This is what USAF pilots call THE RIGHT STUFF. The fact that passenger (Louis) is so relaxed really illustrates his confidence in this rocking young pilot. Great video, great adventure. The biggest accomplishment is to be able to get an airplane and the money and time off work to do the trip. The GPS took away much of the risks the early pioneers had to face. The Pacific is the only significant challenge now, the Atlantic is basically a joke if you island hop. The leg would be longer than Hawaii if you fly to Canary Island. (3000 miles ) But that is well within the range of many mid sized jets.

Not really, the computers do almost everything for you nowadays except if you want to join the mile high club. The IFR rating (written) I hear can be very tough to pass. Even the private exam is equivalent to a trade exam, I know, I did a few of that. You need that rating to cross oceans. One great thing about the southern routes, I have no concern about air frame icing. The GPS took away all the guess work where you are. None of this wondering am I to the left or right of Howland Island or I already passed it??? I know the location to within 10,15 ft.

Congratulations on taking that awesome adventure and having the confidence to see it through. As a GA student, I am in awe of your achievement from not only the flight, but the commitment and prep you had to do for this mission everyday (including inspections/maintenance/ wx, cg and fuel calculations). This gives me more motivation to complete my certification and continue onto many more. I would have liked to see Louis get more involved in the process of flying a 210 around the world to help you out on the trip. Some training would have relived you of some stress and may have inspired someothers to get more excited about Ga (from his followers). Like I said, I'm a student, but have purchased a Viking Dragonfly MK2 in hopes to take it out and have a good time (obviously after some conventional gear training). I consider this flight domestic , and it likely involve less prep than just change the oil before you leave. The charts of course cost a bundle, but is less hassles than crossing the Atlantic flying through 6? countries. Greenland now insist you buy air sea rescue insurance before they let you in. Then there must be visas and cost to hangar your plane overnight. You also have to be concern about icing, unless you cross via canary islands. Once crossed, you find most European countries are against private aviation, and have some scary charges.

You are a stud, I am super impressed, you have done a task in which not many pilots have been able to complete or even attempt. Many of your viewers don't have the intuition to even try this sort of feat. Congratulations to you, Flying around the world takes an incredible amount of weight and balance computations as well as chart and flight plan . Oh yea and all the legal paperwork the faa and other countries require. Thank you for the video may you accomplish what ever you dream.

Normally it is more than it would have cost if you had flown in Business class on the same route. In other words; it is cheaper to fly business class no tot mention more comfortable as well.

Watched all episodes twice in the last 2 years. What an epic adventure JP, you must be so proud of your achievement! I admire what you guys did so much. I could not do it myself. I wouldn't stand being sit for 6-8 hours in such a tiny space, without the possibility of walking once in a while to strech my legs and spine. And you still had the energy to edit videos, or to plan the next flight and think about all the details around it. I don't have an airplane and never will, so doing what you did in MSFS 2020 will have to do :) I think I have the whole list of airports right. Doesn't have the Cessna 210 though, and it's a shame I can't install extra fuel tanks. Yesterday I only did a short trip from Oakland to Kern Valley. The journey will begin soon ;)
