@Very_Okay
@Very_Okay Жыл бұрын
@@reddguy first of all, i don’t see anyone claim wanting change in infrastructure as their own brilliant ideas. that’s so childishly dismissive and reductive. the internet exists. the exchange of ideas and information makes possible spreading that information rapidly. and “why of all times now”? this implies that: a) the shape of the country’s infrastructure is a static object that has always been this way. american car infrastructure is a new phenomenon relatively speaking. a counter-response to it would also be a relatively new thing. b) there haven’t been urbanism movements throughout the last few generations. people have been educating about and studying the pitfalls of american infrastructure and car-dependency for decades. as more and more studies have been performed, the evidence in support of change continues to build and thus more and more people join the movement. c) there would be a better “time” to want these changes why not now? no one wants to take your box in a field. urbanism is talking about cities. not suburbs. not small towns. if you want to drive 45 minutes to walmart and applebees please, be my guest.

Protip for those on international/long flights. Get some Benadryl or Dramamine, take it 10-15 minutes before you get on the flight. It'll help you sleep alot better and (relatively speaking) should be kicking in about the time the flight starts if there are no major delays. You'll still feel jet-lagged a bit the day after if you sleep thru most of the flight it helps your body acclimate (or it did in my case). If your ears 'pop' alot on flights, bring some chewing gum. The constant jaw motion will help your inner ear pressure balance alot faster once you reach altitude

Just recently came across your channel. I love the idea of cooking foods from all around the world. I apply the same idea in my house because I believe experiencing other people’s cultures are very important. However I happen to notice you haven’t done Ukrainian or Russian foods yet (or i haven’t came a crossed it yet) . I was adopted from kostroma, Russia in 1999 when I was 4 years old. When you made ratatouille you mentioned how Anton flashed back to his childhood when he ate it at the restaurant. For me every time I make borscht I feel the exact same way. Brings me home to when I was a kid coming inside after playing in the snow and my mama had just finished cooking. House full of the smell and me starving. She’d clean me up and put into warm clothes and sit me down with a big bowl. My papa would always tell her she was the best borscht maker around. If you happen to come across this comment you should give it a try. It’s not fancy or extravagant as a lot of the foods you’ve made but it is something different.

A week ago, I traveled from the city where my college is located to my hometown, which took around 12 hours by land, including several transfers between buses, trains, and taxis. Despite taking some brief rests on the bus, I ended up sleeping for over 12 hours that day. Although the journey was challenging, it was all worth it in the end. By the way, I like a lot your cooking videos, can't wait for more! :)

I had my first Corndog in North America shortly after moving there. That was about 20 years ago. It was the first and last time, I still remember how awful it was, but I might give it another try.

You have to eat it with lots of mustard. It counteracts the sugar.

I actually lived in Pacific Palisades just north of Santa Monica in 1985-90 and hung out at Santa Monica Pier often on weekends. Ahhhh...I miss doing that. Glad you enjoyed the ambiance. I love Santa Monica. Also very glad you enjoyed the corndog.

I ended up in this channel after you rated chilaquiles and tamales with a high score and that touch my ego as Mexican I felt very happy and proud of my gastronomy. But now I discovered your latest videos and I have to say I love now this channel more than just for rating Mexican food on a high position.

You need to go to a state fair of some kind to get a corndog. That one looked like it came from the frozen section of the supermarket. I have never been to the Iowa State Fair but that’s the most famous destination for these kinds of foods. I remember the amusement park near where I grew up used to do hand dipped and battered corndogs and eventually they switched to premade. It was such a disappointment.

The best corndogs are at a fair or carnival or some sort of celebration where they are made fresh. In LA go to a Taco Truck...pork burrito.
