I worked for the Nevada Highway Patrol in Las Vegas as security for the police impound yard. After a car was on the lot for 30 days I had the duty of going thru cars removing anything of value before the vehicle went to auction. One car I found cremated remains but the car that caused me to look for new employment was creepy and unnerving as it could ever be. There was a stench coming from the car and I had to search it. Popping the passenger door lock as soon as I opened it a human head rolled out. That was my last day.

There's people that will take them safe if you put them at the end of your driveway at the curb and put them on Facebook for the scrap man for any scrap man to come by I should say scrap person to come get them instead of taking them to the trash dump

A friend of mine bought a storage unit in California 20 years ago and the only thing in the unit was a large smelly pile of jeans in the center, no one would bid on it so he bid and won the unit for 5 dollars, all the jeans were vintage Levi’s and in every pocket was from 1 to 5- hundred dollar bills, he ended up with 15,500 in cash and sold the jeans for 2 grand

I'm glad you guys sacrifice the time that it takes to make sure the old owners get things back that only have value to them, like the wedding flutes; time is money, and a lot of people would just be greedy and toss all the sentimental stuff. I'm in junk removal. At an eviction clean out, I also found someone's cremation remains. My priest helped me find the family and gave it to them. It was their mom.

Anything sentry safe the manufacturer can provide you with an override key or code. Just went through it with a gun safe. $30 and three days later I had a set of key.

Did you hear about a family in the UK that bought a storage, and in there were suit cases. In the suit cases were the remains of two young children. So horrific. Just be glad you only find ashes. That would give me nightmares for the rest of my life. Soooo sad 😢

Really cool that you’re ethical about returning personal and such items. The safes are always fun to watch. If it were I, I’d build a simple table to set the safe on, and use like a ratchet strap or clamps to hold it still so you can pry and drill as such; I’m always cringing waiting for you to slip with the crowbar!! Serious injury looking for a way to happen! I’ve had to patch up a lot of tool injuries over the years! Y’all keep having fun!

The safes with an electronic lock can often be opened using a strong magnet. There are KZfaq videos that will show you how.

What do you do with all the "questionable activity devices" that you find? Can you dispose of them at the storage facilities, or do you have to take them and dispose of them elsewhere? I would be so paranoid of getting a paraphernalia possession charge!😳

Besides a pair of gloves and a box cutter - always carry a small magnet. This is so that if find jewelry you can find out if it's just gold platted or not.

You aren't wrong about it being risky buying storage units. One family here bought an abandoned storage unit and when they got it home they found a trunk with two bodies of a little boy and girl inside. They just arrested a woman in South Korea for murder. She is now waiting for extraditon. They said the kids have been in the unit for three or four years.

You should contact or watch KZfaqr "The Lock Picking Lawyer." You might not have to destroy a safe like you found in this one. You would be surprised how easy most seem to be to open. Then you would have a nice safe to sale for profit.

@11:29 those are incontinent pads. We use those at the nursing home, where I work to prevent bed changes and keep chairs from getting soiled. They work great under litter boxes too.
