@@XabioArts dw I get it. As a general rule for beginners, "don't use black for your shadows" is reasonable. In the end, it's just a matter of art style. Rules are meant to be broken, but you have to understand them first. Love your vids btw.

that "art tip" at 8:36 is actually for math lmao, its a trick to remember the sine and cosine values of unit circle angles.

basically for the first quadrant u can know the sine and cosine values of an angle by putting down the respective finger. So for example when u want to know the sine and cosine of a 30 degree angle, put down the pointer finger on ur left hand, there will be one finger on the left of it and 3 on the right. so to know sine, its square root of the number of fingers on the left, in this case 1, divided by 2, which gives a half. To know cosine its square rooting the number of fingers on the right and dividing by 2, which gives square root 3 over 2. and for tan its sine over cosine which gives one over square root 3. this trick is hella useful in trig questions, my teacher didnt teach this but i learnt it on youtube and its so nice :D

I usually love drawing from mind with no reference so all I do are faces which I do best. I really need to study anatomy with reference so it will be easier to draw freely while still being accurate. Nice tip on the shading tho, I struggle a lot in that department.
