Hey Rony, The bike looks great. Almost any bike in a little bigger size/not 58 or 61/, but anything below that looks better. The top tube, the seatstays. The older 49 had a little sloping top tube geometry, the new one does not.

I don’t really see the efficiency gain in riding a 52T 1x rather than a 2x. Average speed on the flat maybe, but the gearing options for any climbs have to be pretty poor.
@mikicastan

Lars He dont need to be in 10 tooth cog. 50 is relatively small chainring on road bike
@ronykuba
@ronykuba 4 жыл бұрын
Look at the frontal area and you'll see. It gives a lower gear than the classic 53x39 with 11-23 and noone would be batting an eye if I was riding that... Also, I don't feel need to be able to ride up everything in Z1.
@LarsRR
@LarsRR 4 жыл бұрын
Ronald Kuba I am not saying you need to ride up everything in Z1. But if you ride up a longer 6% to 7% grade at 52x28, you need to be at just over 350 Watts, even at your weight, to keep pedaling somewhat normally. I know you are a strong rider, but for me, I would just be burning too many matches for the relatively small efficiency gain of a 1x (it is literally a few watts)
@LarsRR
@LarsRR 4 жыл бұрын
Jura Stanić it’s a 52 and that’s a pro sized chain ring for a SRAM AXS. I am not talking about the 10 cog, but about the 28 and 33 cog. You have big gear jumps there and a very poor chain line, while the gear is still very tough (for a very steep grade). The inefficiency of pedaling at the wrong (or an unpreferred one) cadence clearly outdoes the efficiency gain of frontal area (let that be 5 watts at 40k) and chain line efficiency when at optimal speed.
@ronykuba
@ronykuba 4 жыл бұрын
@@LarsRR I don't know how did you calculate that, but it just doesn't add up. 52x28 @350W is normal cadence even on a 12% grade. I know because that's where I do every single Z5 interval.

@@PhillRS an aero bike will always be faster. I like being able to stop. Rim brakes are not very good at that. It doesn't matter they're lighter if they're rubbish.
