@@Wa-wk6qk I see this asked a lot too. Personally, I don’t think wrist size matters as much as hand size. Look at Tupac or snoop from the 90’s. Those dudes made the 36mm look like a a kids fossil watch

My first Rolex was the 36 gold day date. Still love it but hardly ever wear it. If I do only under a shirt. Nearly got me in trouble a couple of times. It's getting harder and harder to enjoy our watches and cars. As the song goes it's a mad world.

100% agreed Tom, watches nowadays are getting enormous. The day I got a 37mm Seiko 5 I ended up wearing it everyday instead of my other 40mm+ "nicer" watches.

I prefer these older DD much more than the newer ones. They lack the blingy character of the new one because of the brushed case. However I love the DD40 in white gold with the striped silver dial or even the diamond/meteorite dial.

Rolex are just quality. I would like to see you and Producer Michael together talking watches and cars. So glad you are remembering the NHS at the end as I think some are starting to forget how brilliant they have been putting their own lives at risk for us. Buying a solid gold Rolex is a no brainer considering how much stainless steel sports watches are selling for on the grey market. The stretch isn’t bad on that one at all. I wouldn’t mind a onyx dial DD I saw a Russian one recently and was blown away.

What a gem ... I'm not much of a gold guy but I do lust for a gold Day-Date. Such an icon...36mm is by far the one to get when it comes to the Day-Date, pure class. Hope to pick up a Day-Date for a milestone birthday down the road, maybe my 40th or 50th.

Your Daydate is a beauty Tom. So simple, so classy. I much prefer the simple classic watches over the huge faced more modern styles. I've always preferred watches with smaller faces. Oh... And the Swatch is mega cool 😎

Gio, Johnson did have a Rolex but later. The Day Date was launched in 1956 and Rolex gave the then President Dwight D. Eisenhower one as a gift.

I think 36mm is the sweet spot, gives an opportunity to show the case''s ergonomics...and btw it wears well also on your muscular arms therefore can fit anyone.

For example: if I were to write, “George B, is it right to separate a name with a comma in a sentence?” Or: “George B is it right to separate a name, etc... “... the former scans better and the latter runs off and as a result, “is” runs the risk of being interpreted as a doing verb rather than the onset of a question.

The gold value per gram exceeds the current cost of the watch...I’m sure it’ll catch up soon but for now it’s a good idea to buy vintage 36mm. Awesome video!

Vintage Day Dates are a bargain atm i picked up a 18238 full set for near half the price it sold for in 89. Consider inflation of almost 200% since then and more to come, add the Gold content plus the fact you have one the most famous and stylish Rolex on the wrist its a no brainer. Snap em up while you can!

Thoughts on the Black Bay Chrono? I am looking into my first "real" watch purchase and cant afford to foray into the Rolex market yet- and many of the Black Bay series stand out to me, with the Chrono leading the pack...
