I used to work for the Daytona Karting group and we used to hold an event at Mercedes Benz World in Brooklands, Surrey for the Henry Surtees Foundation. As I was marshalling the event in like 2014 (I think), John Surtees took a bunch of his old F1 cars out on the MB World track and drove them in anger, before leading the field of karts around for pace laps. It was amazing to see these things being driven so hard up close. John then came round each and every marshal post and thanked us all for making the event possible. Absolute gentlemen, and a fierce racer! It's always great to see his cars out and about again :)

My dad used to race in Historic FF2000 and when grids were small an old f1 car would sneak their way into the race. Greatest one i saw was probably the march 2-4-0 six-wheeler. Wow! What an experience! Thanks for taking us along! You helped me through the shut down and lack of racing during the pandemic. Thank you so much for being there for all of us. It's only fitting that you are having such awesome real world opportunities! So happy for you, and so grateful you are still bringing us along. I work for Michelin North America, it looks like we will be back at Lemans this year. I just get the race tire engineers to the venue, but if you'll be at the race, please give me a shout. I don't know what access I can get you due to the changing COVID-19 protocols, but I'll do my best to get you some behind the scenes access. Thanks again!

Awesome, congrats for the opportunity! In the early 2000s I visited the Nurburgring for an event called Oldtimer Grand Prix, lots of vintage race cars going for it. The most memorable race was classic F1 and I'm pretty sure this car was one of them. That noise one of those make going down a straight on full chat... epic.

Absolutely fabulous to see you going from a shed dweller to a propper race car driver Jimmy. You will get to le Mans someday. The cars and venue's are becoming more serious by the season. What an amazing journey. All the best.

Everything about this was epic. The car. Your retro helmet to match. The sounds. The footage. The drone shots. "For Laurie" visible as you drive this awesome car. Ugh. The feels.

There's not a more evocative sound in Motorsport than a Cosworth DFV - massive congratulations that Buckmore , and I'd imagine the Surtees family, let you have a play with a truly amazing bit of kit. Professional works racing driver, with F1 experience - you should be very proud of everything you've achieved, given the position you have been in the past. You are an absolute inspiration, every single day.

Amazing, and well deserved. You love motorsports, but unlike most spectators, you have elevated that love to the next level..... and now motorsports loves you. I'm insanely jealous of this drive, but very happy to see you enjoy it. Well done mate.
