Hey Jin congrats on graduating, new subscriber here!! I wanted to ask, is the intercalated year a must for all students, I'm a graduate thinking of applying to Edinburgh & was thinking of doing 5 years rather than 6 xD

Hi alba, thanks! Yes I believe it is compulsory now, but I've also heard it's an 'opt-out' choice rather than 'opt-in' choice like before - not sure which is true. It's definitely a consideration when picking a university - for example, if I was an international student, there's no chance in hell I would pay an extra £40k to do intercalated year. Have a search around to see if you can still opt out of intercalated year, before picking Edinburgh!
