I thought this was going to be a silly story about that one time everything went comically wrong but that last part hit me like a truck. It really puts into perspective how much we take for granted. My condolences.

I don’t want to dwell on the negative, but what a truly horrible time to receive that kind of news, when there’s absolutely no reprieve for hours on end. I’m glad to hear you guys are doing better! Lots of love! To share in a terrible travel storie!! I think my personal worst was also an international flight! For context, I’ve got some intense food/texture sensitivity. On this particular return trip, I was hit back to back to back with in flight meals that had textures I just couldn’t stomach, so I couldn’t eat them at all. Then the time between flights was so tight that we had to sprint through the airport, absolutely no time to grab anything else to eat. By the time I got to my last flight, I had been up so absurdly long, and I was so nauseous, I almost passed out right after we took off. A ton of the flight attendants rushed over to move me to the back of the plane where I could lay down, and someone brought me a chicken sandwich that i was actually able to eat. It probably wasn’t actually that delicious, but it was such a godsend in the moment that I have dreams about getting to eat it again! It’s got real healing properties in my memory, nothing else compares.

Damn, that last part hit hard. I almost started tearing up for real, I'm really glad you kept it in though. It's encouraging to know I'm not alone in feeling like things continuously pile up only for what seems like the worst to happen. Much love to you and Daidus

I can sadly relate to the loss during a long flight.. Me and my family were moving together to U.S.A last year, we had 3 seperate flights. Home country to Vietnam, Vietnam to Qatar, and finally Qatar to the U.S. As we were waiting for our last and longest flight in Qatar, our grandpa (my dad's father) died. It was a really hard blow as we were extremely close to him, especially my father. We already lost our grandma (my dad's mother, who was an angel) a few years back, and this was an extremely hard blow. It became depressing and horrible when we were trying to be so optimistic about this change in our lives. Condolences to Daidus, you and the loved one.

I’m so sorry for y’all’s loss, I hope y’all are doing alright! Hopefully this will give you guys a laugh. When I was little my mom, my older brother, and I were waiting in an airport for our flight, I have a tendency to burp very loud and with a whole lot of gusto (like seriously it’s either an explosion or I sound like a growling animal there is no in between) so we were just chilling when one snuck up on me, a big one, like my mom looked at me in horror because of how intense it was. I being the child raised with manners that I was immediately said “excuse me!” (Note I was a small girl, like no one would have assumed I was the source of the explosive burp) and I wasn’t aware three random strangers had turned to investigate the source. A lady yells out “oh! I thought my brother was behind me!” Cue laughter on all sides while I sit there mildly embarrassed but mostly laughing because everyone else is laughing. That was well over 15 years ago and my brother still makes the joke when I burp: “The TSA just flinched” 😂

I'm so sorry for your loss. Since you requested worst travel stories, I'll give two. First is my worst 'not fun' story, which was having a full-blown panic attack traveling back home from the USA. I paid for a window seat and got right in the middle row, in the middle of the plane (I get travel sick, so that was a concern), I was sandwiched between two people so I couldn't reach my meds (I struggle to deal with strangers at the best of times) and I was traveling away from my best friend and only real family I have. I felt sick, I struggled to breathe and it took all my power to get to the restroom. The moment I did, I had a very audible panic attack. Next thing i remember, one of the staff have pulled me away, gave me water and handed me a bag to take my meds. They weren't anxiety med, they were anti-sickness meds, but they did evoke drowsiness. They had nowhere else for me to go (I was ready to lay on the floor for the whole trip, but I knew that couldn't happen) so I was moved back to my seat where I slept for half the trip and remained catatonic for the rest of it. Also my foot was fucked and needed help moving around. They provided a wheelchair, but dumped me on the wrong side of the airport and took the wheelchair away. That sucked. I was the last to get off my final connecting flight and the metal wheelchair this airport had prepared was left in the hot, summer sun for 15 minutes. First time I ever got sun burnt from a wheelchair. The 'fun' story was a domestic flight. I figured since the flight was only an hour that I didn't need to bother with ginger or meds, so I took neither. I started feeling sick ten minutes in, but the people traveling with me kept telling me that I was fine and that I had nothing to complain about. I was breathing like I was ready to give birth by the end. The lady at the end told everyone else to have a good day, but she took one look at my pale face and asked if I was going to faint. I told her that I was about five seconds away from spewing and I was quickly sat and given water, so I could have time to settle. The people with me were definitely sheepish for the rest of the day, that was sure.

As a man who lives in the UK, I would like to say to Eli and Daidus as a representative of the whole of the UK, WE ARE SORRY FOR THE SHITE YOU HAD TO ENDURE

Daidus's experience (and Emi's previous one) with the jalapenos is very common and likely not food poisoning but due to the capsaicin getting more potent the longer a jalapeno is left to ripen (especially pre-cut ones used in food places). Never trust a non-freshly cut jalapeno lol Sorry for your loss too Daidus. Probably the worst way to end a vacation like that.

I ignored this video initially because I thought it was another KZfaqr complaining about the luxury of traveling, I was thinking “it’s truly a privilege to fly and do this for a living, so why complain about it?” But watching this all the way through made my heart break, Daidus, I hope all is good man, I know Emily says y’all are okay but losing someone is a pain that never really leaves, I’ve lost people in the past that have left scars on me, so please take care of yourself.

Two months after I moved to Japan, I got that phone call too. Hugs for you both. I also had a pretty awful time in the UK. The details aren't particularly funny to relate, but there was this one moment during an awful bus ride that I remember fondly. I looked down at a newspaper someone had tossed on the floor, and spotted the headline, "Geologists : Brittan will disappear beneath the ocean," and I was filled with a warm, golden glow of happiness that still remains with me today.

I can literally feel the pain behind Emi's story here, the painful experience of travelling is barely tolerable. The worst travelling experience you could normally get is when you get sick during the travel, and this happened to me by a lot.

I’m an American. I traveled all over Europe for a couple weeks last month and while I loved the experience, I DESPISED the air travel. Being in one place for longer than 3 hours, being physically and mentally sick/exhausted for several days due to jet lag, and going through security numerous times (we took a plane four times during the trip) were miserable. Heck, i was shocked (and a little concerned) that getting through airport security in Texas was easier than any of the countries I entered in Europe. I got stopped by Airport security twice: first time because I was a doof and forgot to remove my liquids and electronics and second time because a *literal bag of marbles* tripped the Xray as some kind of dangerous object. Surprisingly (as well as concerning), getting back into the US was literally answering a question and flashing my passport. Maybe it’s because I’m a US citizen, Texas is more lenient, or because I came directly from the UK after passing security twice, but that felt way too easy compared to everything else. Man did I love traveling through Europe, but flying was not at all fun.

As a fellow victim of the nasty little bloodsuckers, I feel your pain. Literally. Even after I threw out my mattress, deep cleaned ALL the laundry and linens, had the house professionally fumigated and bought a new mattress, I STILL find myself panicking over every little itch thinking they’re back.

I was expecting a story I could laugh at and… Well I did for the first half… My condolences, if it’s of any help. My way of getting through these times is. Smile. The problems will hit just. Make it hit less hard…

I have horrible travel anxiety and I am so impressed you got through that trip. I have the same thoughts when people tell me "You're more likely to die in a car then a plane, but you still drive daily." I just sit there with a blank stare going "1. I drive daily becomes it is a necessary requirement for me to get to places on time. and 2. I am terrified when driving and always assume I'll have an accident. This was so bad that when I was 16 and could get my learners, I spent literal weeks memorising the legislation for all road rules and procedures to try and make myself the safest driver I could be." PS. I have never had an accident or ran into anything, but my fear when driving never stops.

That trip was FOUL. It's like the universe joined just to give you guys a big rollercoaster (with mostly downs) of a trip. I hope you recover greatly.

My worst travel experience hands down was the beginning of my Japan trip 😂. Somehow my bags got turned around and sent to Florida ( i am from Maryland). So for the first 36 hours i was in japan, i was stuck wearing the same clothes that i had been wearing/ traveling in.

Holy fuck, can the universe give Emi a break already? That's just hell to hear, let alone experience it. Ay, Emi, you may not notice this but you've got my eternal support, you wholesome, graceful lady.

As a gentleman from England I'm sorry you and Daidus had a rough time with hotels, bed bugs and the food poisoning none of should have happened and Daidus sorry about the sudden loss in the family it's not easy but stay strong for yourself and the people who loves you. Hey! I’m so sorry for your loss Daidus. None of this is your fault, and I send my condolences. I don’t really have any terrible traveling experiences because I don’t travel that much, but I’m under the age of 18, so I’m always traveling with my family. My parents.. aren’t on the best terms and always find ways to argue with each other. Family trips start with arguments, have arguments in between, and end in arguments. It’s exhausting and always ruins the trip for me no matter how much I should be used to it because it sort of happens a lot. I’m a sensitive person when it comes to this stuff because it used to be so much worse a few years ago when I wasn’t even 10 years old. They would throw things at each other and stay at hotels for the night etc. now even threatening a divorce is normal for them. This happens on almost every trip, so if it counts, I would consider it my worst traveling experience. Again, I’m so sorry for all the shit that happened.. it sucks so much that a trip like this that was supposed to be super fun ended up so stressful, frustrating, and saddening in all sorts of ways. I’m glad that you guys are doing okay now, and I’m so sorry for all that happened- bed bugs and food poisoning sucks.. and of course Daidus’s loss. Unrelated, but keep up the good work you guys! My brother fell down an escalator as a baby and almost cracked his skull. He wasn't crying, just staring. Blood was all over the place. I was scared More scared than shit.

Hey Em, here's some advice for you when it comes to ANY bugs, but in this case bedbugs: Carry peppermint oil! No seriously. My dads job had a bed bug issue, and he wanted to find natural ways to repel them (Didn't want to flood his locker with a chemical smell of bug repellants.) and he found out that peppermint oil was a VERY good repellant due to it's strong smell. Especially since, not only does it repel insects, but it can also kill them too! Ever notice how bugs have a shiny coating on them? That coating keeps them hydrated. The oil destroys that coating, so the bugs become un-alived via dehydration. So if you or Daidus ever decide to travel in the future, and are REALLY concerned about staying in a hotel for fear of bedbugs, try to carry a spray bottle filled with the stuff. You'll all smell minty, and the bugs will piss off, or meet God! EDIT: Also, I'm so sorry to hear about how god awful it was for you and Daidus all the way until the end. If you ever decide to travel again in the future, I hope your trip then won't even be anywhere NEAR 1/10th of a pain this trip was.

oh god I relate to this sooooo much. I brought bed bugs back to my home and FINALLy figured it out after two months of going insane. I had to gut my bedroom, rip out the carpet and get all new furniture. I washed literally every piece of clothing in the house, even stuff I had stored in bags. I still freak out if I wake up with a bite, even if I know I let in a few mosquitoes when I went outside.

Damn, i was laughing all the way till the end.. and then it hit me.. I'm sorry about Daidus' loss.. I know you guys said everything is ok now, but I can't imagine how it must feel to loose someone under such conditions... Overall it was an amazing and emotional video.

Oki, My worst traveling experience was when I went to Cape Town , down in South Africa. Not that South Africa is a bad place (It is) but because of how sick I got on this trip. I got the flu and it was almost so bad I got pneumonia (almost, I luckily didn't). This happened cus (Well this is what I think what caused it) I played in the Antarctic ocean. I asked my mom about it, She said I almost drowned as well but I don't remember that. Sorry you peeps had such a bad trip. I wash that future one's are never this bad for you all! Really wish that.

My worst experience traveling was a tie between the time when our car broke down and got rod knock on a cross country road trip. Luckily we had made it to our destination just barely and had family to help. The other time, which I think is the worst despite really only one bad thing happening, is the time that we were visiting family Christmas of 2017. We had to reschedule our flight because of some reason or another, and right before we left, my grandma died. It was right after new years. She had got sick and she was fine for the day, but out of nowhere she just got really bad, and died that night. I hope things get better for you guys, I understand how hard it can be to go through something like this.

“So you’re saying there’s still a chance?” This sums it up perfectly, personally speaking. The odds can be 1 in a billion, and the worry will remain because you know in the back of your head that all it takes is a bad roll of the dice, figuratively-speaking. Granted, that applies to everything; I believe we’ve magnified it with planes due to how much coverage incidents involving them get. Doesn’t quell the anxiety those of us get for flying in the end. In short, I share the exact same sentiment, down to the letter.

Oooh my sympathies on the bedbugs. I swear they travel via alternate dimensions. We'll have fumigated and heat treated a room that got them... then boom out of nowhere... we'll have them yet again. 😭

Thoughts and love going out to you and Daidus, as much as travelling sucks there’s nothing worse than receiving bad news like that and being trapped in limbo with no way to deal with it. I’m glad you both took the time you needed to recharge, take it easy as best you can. So, you want travel stories! My last trip (UK to Spain) was a treat! We haven’t travelled much as a family since pre Covid as I work in care, and I started transitioning in early 2019 (FtM), as such, I’ve changed a fair bit in that time, but I’m still not where I want to be and I’m waiting on some surgeries, so my body’s a bit… ambiguous. So security had a field day with me. Had to go through the body scanners, and received a FULL pat down which as someone who is touch averse is such a delight ❤ they were friendly enough, but when the first words they say to you are ‘are you a sir or a madam’ when I’m bearded up and trying to hide my body shape as much as possible, it can’t help but trigger the dysphoria that I haven’t felt in a while. The rest of the travelling was fine. The holiday was a well needed break and we enjoyed ourselves, until 2 days before the end of the trip when we all started feeling unwell. I had muscle pain through my whole body, my nose was blocked, my head was throbbing, the works! It faded a little before we travelled home, but with the transfer to the airport being late and the lines being super long because of airport staff strikes, we barely made the flight home and returned to the UK during a really bad storm where most of the routes home were flooded and the rain was still coming. OH, and it turned out the reason we were all feeling bad? Tested positive for Covid 2 days after returning home as I had to test to go back to work. The bedbug fears are real, we were checking EVERYWHERE for the little blighters and luckily never came across them, but I was checking my case and bed for a week after coming home just to be sure. Travelling is stressful, but luckily the positive experiences (new sights, great food, meeting new people and seeing old friends) makes up for it. I wish you both MUCH better luck for your future trips! And try not to fret about the UK, the locals hate it just as much as the visitors lmao

My first trip to Japan, we had 2 small kids behind us for the whole flight. 17 hours of seat kicking, high pitched screaming and kids running around. I call it the Hell Flight. My condolences to you both.

Hey Emily I want to say my condolences. this has taken me two weeks to gather the words. I know how it feels like a family member or someone close to you. I lost my grandmother when I was 13 and it was sudden and unexpected. I also lost my girlfriend around 2 months ago. Can you please take care of yourself don't forget to drink water and sleep.

I’m very sorry for all the horrible things that’s happened to you guys. Also I HATE flying too, not only just because the fear of dying but I also hate the process of flying!! I do have abit of a story when I was flying to Greece. My brother and I were flying to London first then take another flight to Athens but the flight to get to London was VERY INTERESTING and very weird. My brother and I were sitting next to these people and these people were taking ALOT of shots of fireball and then they try talking to us, already drunk. They were asking us where we’re going and if we’re meeting up with family (which we are) then try asking us random personal questions for some reason?? In my head I’m already thinking to myself “this is going to be a long f**king flight.” Even though we had our headphones on they still tried talking to us for 4 HOURS within the flight!!! Listen I don’t mind talking to people but I just felt uncomfortable especially when these people who can’t even finish their sentences, I just wasn’t having it. The last thing they asked me was if “I wanted to drink in the back of the plane with them”?? LIKE WHAT??! I just said no thanks I’m good and that was it. THEN as I’m reading my book, these two people started fighting two other people that were sitting behind us and honestly I didn’t know what happened or what they said to them but apparently the drunks said something offensive and the people sitting behind us were not having it. The fighting lasted a good 20 mins even though the flight attendants seat the 4 of them different seats, THEY WERE STILL TRYING TO THROW HANDS at each other!! And we had 5 more hours to get to London and I was so stressed and anxious after that ordeal happened I was ready to get off the plane.

I am so so sorry that this happened to you and Daidus. That really sucks and I am so sorry for your loss. You both need a hug. I don’t like traveling either, but it usually ends okay. My worst trip though was when my parents took my to San Diego as a Christmas present. I got air sick on the plane for the first time. When we got there I got super congested, and was coughing and struggling to make my voice heard while at Sea world watching Shamu for the last time. We went on my first whale watching expedition in the luxurious captains quarters and even after taking medications threw up minutes after the ship took off. I spent the rest of the expedition behind the ship in clothes covered in stomach acid and seeing no sea life. My mom got sick soon after me and spent the rest the trip with me. The rest the trip went alright, but when we got back in the plane ride home I got sick again. I have never been so sick on a trip before of since then.

I'm so sorry :( I JUST lost my grandma about a week ago, so I know that on top of everything else is exhausting. Please take as much time to yourself as you both need

I’m so sorry for Daidus’ loss! My aunt went through a similar situation last month. We lost our grandma when my aunt was visiting Japan. It was horrible. Take all the time you need. My worst travel experience came from one of my best trips. I went to Costa Rica during the time of the FIFA World Cup. Everyone was super friendly, lively and happy. But I went zip lining and my shirt got stuck in the pulley that took you down to the next zip line level. The guy had to cut it off with a knife and take me down, exposing my bra to my whole extended family. I also sprained my ankle because the Airbnb had an indoor pond running through it that I forgot about when I went to get water at 3am. I was also stung by fire ants and my cousin had an allergic reaction to some gift shop chapstick. All and all I’d do the whole thing again because the vibes from the people were so great.

Yeah, my first trip to Tokyo in five years started with news at the airport before takeoff that my grandmother died, and then when I landed in Japan news that my other grandmother died. It was a dour start to the trip but I was grateful I got to see both before I left.

I'm glad you got a break, you really had a lot going on during your trip. I just got back from my trip in China, and the worst part was dragging the luggage around since we'd brought 4 pieces of luggage, many bags and there were only 2 people (myself included) to carry them. Needless to say I've learned my lesson and won't be bringing so much luggage with me in the future. My arms were aching with just the carry ons, and it was such a relief to finally get to the carts that help with carrying luggage.

I can only relate to how frustrating travel can be sometimes. I reckon my worst experience was a cancelled flight that took the airline about 4 hours to notify us that it was cancelled… and then making us wait in line for 2 more hours for them to arrange alternate flights. On a side note, that last part of the video just goes to show that nothing compares to the blessing of life and that all those inconveniences are small compared to other issues. Whatever it is you guys are going through, I do hope you are managing to navigate through it to the best of your abilities and I do send my heartfelt condolences.

I'm so sorry for you and Daidus's loss :( Hopefully these stories can bring you a chuckle! Don't feel bad about having bad traveling experiences because I have similar luck. Case 1: I was flying to Belgium to visit friends, and as the naïve person I am, I booked flights through Montreal. In April. A massive ice storm hit Montreal and the flight got canceled. Luckily the airline was super helpful and I rebooked through Portugal instead to get to Belgium. Because of this excursion, I lost like $400 in hotels and activities because I was trying to get to Amsterdam (original plan was to arrive in Belgium early morning, see my friend and have breakfast, then travel to Amsterdam. Also my friend from the Netherlands told me to avoid Amsterdam because she's had rotten luck there). It worked out in the end, but my transit time jumped up like 8 hours. No fun. Case 2: I was flying up to Toronto to meet up with my sister and brother, who drove there (I had to work). Get to the airport and we get hit with a delay due to a storm. No problem, it happens. Another delay. Okay. Another delay. Is this gonna get cancelled? Another delay. Oh boy it's already 10 pm, and flight was 2 hours. Another delay. Is this flight gonna happen? Mind you, I had been up since 5 am due to work. We FINALLY board the plane. It is 11 pm. Another delay. This is when the travelers became hysterical. We all start cackling like baboons. Finally we head out and fly. The turbulence was BAD. The plane dropped like 3 times because even though we flew north over the storm system, it was a bad storm that night. Finally, we make it to Toronto at 1 am, and the rest of the trip was amazing! Moral of the story is I have terrible luck with flights, because there's always a storm.

I went 1 week to both Japan and South Korea earlier this year with my sister. As we landed in Tokyo, I started losing my voice which forced my sister to practice her Japanese at a pharmacy right off the bat. Midway through our Japan trip, i sprained my ankle (which is very practical in Tokyo where all you do is basically walk RIP). I’m so sorry to hear that you and Daidus had a rough trip, especially at the end… I hope Daidus is doing better! I will share my goofy travel mishap story to hopefully lighten up the mood in the comments like Emily suggested! It’s a tad long so buckle up! This year I went on a mission trip to Wyoming with my college pastor and a few fellow students in the ministry. This was my first time flying EVER! I was so excited to spend a week in a new state! The flight there went fine and I had a blast (a good friend of mine was sitting next to me and he is a missionary kid, so my excitement about being in a plane amused him to no end). We were there to help a church in a small town with their VBS, but in-between our work at the church we did sight seeing. One morning we went to a local hunting spot and it was gorgeous. We were all a bit spread out taking photos of wildflowers and the mountains (we don’t have mountains where I live lol) and I eventually decided to get out of the field and onto the main path. But I somehow tripped in a way that sprained BOTH MY ANKLES. I immediately collapsed and cried out. The girls closest to me ran to my side and my college pastor and the pastor from the church we were serving also hurried over. Luckily for me, in this tiny town of 2000 residents the local pastor’s wife happened to be the town physician. So he knew a bit about how to help with injuries. He helped me stand and we concluded it was sprains with the most damage on my left foot. We all packed up in our rental car and left immediately. We bought myself an ankle brace and the next day was set aside for sight seeing since we had finished the VBS. I walked with two twisted ankles for HOURS. That night we drove back to Salt Lake City in Utah where we had flown in from. We got into our hotel rooms and I was first on the shower roster for me and the girls I was sharing a room with. I went into the bathroom and took my shoes off only to find them so swollen and bruised. I thought “I’m probably being dramatic.” And took a shower. After I was dressed, I came out and asked the girls what they thought. They immediately FREAKED out at the sight, insisted I sit down and elevate, two left to get me ice, and the other convinced me to text photos of my feet to my college pastor (something I never thought I’d have to say). My college pastor responded with “Welp. Looks like we aren’t walking around salt lake before our flight tomorrow!” So my second flight (my return home) ended with me being in a wheelchair at the airport and my college pastor admitting that in all his mission trips with students he’d never had to wheel one through an airport lol. We got priority seating though and we made it back home safe! It took about two weeks at home of elevation and ice, but I healed up well!

When you mentioned that all of the little things did not matter anymore that hit like a bullet . It made me wonder if I am stressing too much about little things that I end up missing the things that matter the most in the long run. Makes feel that I just need focus on a few important things at a time instead of trying to do everything. Anyway I hope Daidus gets a hug and I wish the best for his family.

My worst traveling experience was the short trip from Dallas, TX to New York. By car. It’s over a day long one way, so stress was high, even before getting in, as we all knew what was coming. My mom packed some sandwiches beforehand for us to eat, so we didn’t have to waste money on the trip. We were supposed to get up at 5am to start on our trip in the minivan, but that never goes well, so we woke up at 7am instead. Then we started driving. About 2 hours into the trip we had to stop for gas, which was convenient because I really needed to pee. Now, when I tell you this was the most *disgusting* bathroom, I mean it. For a bit of visualization, there wasn’t *just* shit smears on the wall, but a solid egg plopped in the urinal. And on the ground. I decided to hold it in until we made our next stop, since I was the only one who needed to go, and I knew kids couldn’t hold their bladders that long (estimated another hour or so). Turns out, that was a mistake, we got stuck in traffic. There was a huge pileup that came out of nowhere so it was standstill, I mean it took us an hour to get past it. At this point I was about to burst, so once we got to our next stop, I went into the bathroom and- *it was locked*. You’ve gotta be kidding me. There were a few other options for my pee break but that just felt like a tiny jab, considering my bladder was bigger than my stomach at that point. Speaking of, it was finally time to dig in to some of the sandwiches. I ate around 3 and was feeling pretty good. About an hour later, I started to feel a bit nauseous, and then I threw up in the backseat. Little background info here: there were 3 kinds of sandwiches my mom prepared: ham, turkey, and chicken. I chose the ham, and my brothers chose the other two. Guess what the *only type that was bad was?* that’s right, it was the *fucking ham*. We wouldn’t know that it was food poisoning until we got back from the trip, though, so my mom assumed it was a storage problem and threw all of them away. With an empty stomach and a terrible smelling backseat with the most minimal amount of cleaning two tired parents and elementary school kids could do, we continued. It went pretty well for a while, with minimal traffic. Since I puked in the backseat, we had to get a hotel instead of sleeping in the car, which was the original plan. We go into the hotel, and they were really nice and gave us a room even though it was past the time we were supposed to. We get into our rooms, and slept well the whole night. Then, it was back on the road again. We ran out of gas again and had to stop, and this time, the bathrooms were okay, but something happened that put our trip to a standstill. My mom lost her card. She had to cancel it and use cash, so it wasn’t a big deal just then. We finally make it, where we have to sleep since it was already dark outside, but it was super freaking hot up there, the AC had to have been on at least 85. Turns out, that was exactly the case. My stupid brother turned it up super high and said “it’s cold up north, so you turn up the heat to cancel it out!” It was summer. The trip back was alright and if you don’t wanna read allat here’s *TLDR:* gas station bathroom had shit everywhere, I got food poisoning, mom lost her debit card, I slept in sweltering heat, and we wasted a lot of money.

My god this is like one of the worst possible experiences you could have with traveling. I'm so sorry for you guys for it to go like that. I'm glad you are doing okay now. I send u both lots of love and hope that the next times will be a lot better!

First of all i would just like to say my condolences for your loss, that’s horrible especially on top of everything else that happened on your trip. As to one of my worst travel experiences, in 2021 my family decided to take a trip back to the states where I’m from since we’ve been living in Germany for a long time and hadn’t gotten many chances to visit our family back home. I was 15 at the time and travelling with my family was always pretty stressful since my mom finds it very important to be on time to places and kind of ends up stressing a bit too much about it, so for our trip from Berlin to Florida it was pretty hectic. Once we landed in Florida we were immediately met with tons of rain and wind, as well as lots of protests for Cuba in the streets while our friend picked us up and drove us to his place. After a couple of days we picked up my grandmother and uncle from the airport and went to a beach house with them for a couple of days, only to realize our rental car was infested with cockroaches. After we got to the beach house my dad called the car rental company and went to exchange cars, and ended up having to wait for hours until he finally was met by one of the employees of this rental company, and ended up missing the rest of the day where me and my family were at the beach, which smelled horrible due to a ton of animal life dying and washing up at shore at that time for some reason. After the few days where we were at the beach house and having a few not so fun encounters with my grandmother who found out that my dad had gotten the covid vaccine, her being antivax, we finally headed back to Indiana where I’m originally from. My dad got tired of driving at some point and my uncle took the wheel for the last stretch home. However, my grandma was backseat driving while my uncle was at the wheel and it stressed him out a ton, causing him to start driving somewhat recklessly and stressing out everyone else in the car. But we finally got to my grandma’s house and had a good rest of our trip, despite the stress that we had experienced.

I have been lucky enough to have had some very pleasant and relaxing travelling experiences and I am so sorry for the hell that any of you may have gone through. I am so sorry if any of your trips were ruined by a hiccup, misshap or major setbacks You guys all deserve to have relaxing travels, especially you Emi and Diadus. I pray for all of you to have pleasant, relaxing and fun travel experiences the next time you guys decide to get on a plane to go out of the country God bless all of you😊😢🤍💖🙏😊
