About 40% of all Americans eligible to vote never actually vote. If federal works follow the same pattern, then that's 320,000 people we have to hope have the good sense and self-respect to get out and vote for the first time in 2020. If their spouses and adult children follow the same pattern, that's maybe half a million new voters. If they all tell their friends and get them out to vote, that's maybe a million voters. How many voters did Trump win with the shutdown? Zero.
