When you come back to a place where you haven't been in a while, you're older, some people are gone, new people have come in and the memories that come back. There's something special about it. I rode a sled just a few times. I had an 82 Polaris, I think it was an Indy 400 or 440. The one time when I got it out into deep enough snow and had it plane up on top was really weird but it was also awesome. It was a hot minute until I had myself and the sled sorted but I managed to not lose it. I don't know beans about a sled but that thing really seemed to rip! Someone put it away with a carb and tank full of fuel and I got it for taking it out of their way. A little cleaning and Man did that thing run! I'm going to check your channel out for more on this old John Deere. This was a proper adventure!

This is one of the most satisfying videos I've watched in a long time. Not many would even take on such an adventure. My hats off to you sir. Cant wait to see the old girl on that same trail in the future.

I think this is what I should do with all my projects I don't feel like finishing.. stash em in the woods for a decade or so! Awesome haha

A guy wasn’t sure what he was in for here, he figured maybe a guys hair was turning grey and threw a nice sled back there and it’d maybe fire up after all that time but even when it was a project sled seeing something that belonged to you when you didn’t have much sure probably felt great and it was well worth watching and great to hear the interesting stories

Man you got balls going that deep in the woods ,,,alone.....I own a 2002 ram 2500 4x4....gas...5.9... This has been a great adventure..watched part one as well.. you sure trust that old truck.. Back in 1998 i brought a new artic cat zrt600. Ran it for 2 winters fast and fun. Stored it in my dads. Basement. When i went into the service. In 2020 my father passed away. Clean out his house and under the tarp was the sled and a note that said. Heres a 100$ enjoy life take it for a ride dated 2019. At 63 now. Its a fun ride just still to dam fast. Has 700 miles on it. It still out run. Alot of new sleds.

I have a 82 John deere with 1300 miles on it . 431cc engine, about 50-55 mph Kawasaki engine, 1 carb.

You Knooks are just crazy enough to restore that old ski and you will do it and she will ride again. I had a friend God rest his soul who was just like you named Ralph Nelson from Edmonton Alberta and he was then handiest guy you ever met. He told a story about leaving his lights on out in the woods and came back and his truck wouldn't start. He sat and thought for a while of what he could do and finally had an idea. He took the belt off his alternator and his bar off of his chainsaw. Looped the belt around the drive clutch of his chainsaw and spun his alternator with his chainsaw engine until it charged his battery and off he drove!!!. Canadians are the best of people!!

I would not go up there alone without winches, chains, survival gear, food, I wouldn't turn the engine off and never after dark.

What condition is that Cleated track in? If its toast you might be able to make one out of belting, and use carriage bolts with rubber caps as teeth for the drive cogs to grab.

Why is it all taking apart? Did you do that before you parked it there?

I used to have an old alouet sled.. I believe that was a Canadian sled.. old 76 scorpion whip.. boy that old whip was fast guys used to Grass drag race that thing.. old 90s Polaris Indies triple 650 s..sold them all with an enclosed trailer dirt cheap when I left New York back in 2014... I still got my old race cars I got a 66 Pontiac tempest bought that when I was 19 and 55 years old now so bad that car what 36 37 38 years.. bought it back in '86... Still drive it today..and I got a 78 Grand LeMans half back big tire car I bought back about 4 or 5 years ago... Old boats had a 1967 I believe it was hydradine look like Batman's boat man had wings on it with a big scoop on a motor cover... That was back in the good old days..again man it's been a pretty cool little trip with you man thanks for posting it

My brother had a 440Liquifire that was a fast, agile sled for the day. Before that he had a JDX4. We had lots of fun on those sleds. My first sled was a 1991 Mach 1 with the 617cc. Rotax, what a sled. Too crippled up to ride anymore, sure miss it.

Get a nice thick tall boy koozie and if you want cut a square out for the camera. That way it stays insulated to the cold air. I always put my phones in koozies when im going to be cold and wet during the winter

I had a old free air arctic cat when I was a kid if it wasn’t that cold out I would run it without the hood to keep it cool lol still had lots of fun. I love the old sleds
