I've yet to find a Toyota (either ones I've owned or others') that isn't reliable. The only complaint I've ever had was with the 2015 Corolla S we leased for two years. Ran great, but the interior felt cheap sand was like a tin can. My sister's 2012 is much beefier feeling. But, I bet that 2015 will still go 200,000+ miles.

I’ve had both - a 2003 V10 Excursion and a 2005 Sequoia - both 4WD. The Excursion is a MUCH bigger vehicle although the Toyota is clearly superior in everything else. Sure that Scotty can comment on the Ford’s propensity to eject spark plugs - common for that generation of modular engines. In actuality the Sequoia was made to compete directly with the Expedition and Tahoe not the Excursion.

Hey Scotty, my 98 navigator was still running strong at 435k miles till she got a leak at the manifold intake, would still run even drive around town and never ran close to hot. I bought it used 10 years ago for 2500.00 just sold it for 1500.00 believe I got my money's worth, she was a beast with a 5.4L and 35in grippers, I kinda miss Betty Lou, how much you think it would've cost for her intake surgery?

My favorite SUV is the 2nd generation Lexus RX preferable one with the 268 HP 3.5L V6 since it uses a timing chain instead of a belt. No turbo, smooth running, and a sedan-like driving feel.

I've got one of those big, old Sequoias, and I was wondering, is it bad that I take it for some light offroading? Nothing heavy or dangerous, but I've got 33" all terrain tires on it with upgraded suspension (Bilstein lift struts w/ new oem springs, and new control arms). It seems to handle everything I throw at it just fine and never has any problems. I only go every once in awhile, maybe once a month or so. Edit: I always keep up on my maintenance and do everything myself. I just want to make sure I'm not putting too much strain on the engine/transmission. Fluids are changed when the manufacturer recommends it, air filter is always clean, things like that.

One thing I disagree with you about Scotty. I rock crawl mine! Very easy to upgrade. I have winch bumpers, sliders, detroits in the front and rear diffs. If anything, the nice thing about the early 1st gens are they're one of toyotas only platforms which offer 2wd, awd AND 4x4 all in one vehicle. The 4runners are either 2wd/4wd or awd/4wd. I'd take a 1st gen sequoia over an early 100 series LC

Went to air compressors recommended for pumping up tires and you only list vacuum pump for AC recharging, Looking at Stanley Fatmax 1000 at Sam's for $59. What do you recommend for a portable tire pump & jumper?

Scotty, I have a 2007 Camry like the one in backgound of this video, color blue ribbon metallic. The clear coat is peeling horribly all over the roof, hood and trunk. Paint is original, and has been cared for. Did Toyota have clear coat problems this year/paint color? Have you heard if Toyota will stand behind this problem?

Hey Scotty welcome to Tennessee. I’m here in Murfreesboro. We just bought a 2000 Ford Expedition with 316,000 miles on her. She runs and sounds great. Eddie Bauer edition. Everything works. I’m couldn’t pass it up for $150 . V8 Triton engine. Anything I should look for?
