I keep overrunning my positions | XMG USPSA | Carry Optics A | Tanfoglio Stock 2

I started the day off with 9s worth of malfunctions today. I didn’t end the day much better either. So much time was lost overstepping the shooting area, making up shots on steel, and the usual over-confirmation. My movement and shooting were not in sync today.
Regardless, it was a beautiful day with great stages and probably the most stacked squad I’ve been a part of.

Thank you man. I went back to the stock mags (without extensions) in the match prior and had no issues. I’m waiting on brand new sets of mags/springs/basepads to see if a new set is still giving me issues, otherwise I might just stick to the 18 round mags :(

@@calitovegas408 mbx gives me double feeds, for bullet nose down issue, it’s from the regular tanfo mec gar mags + Henning brass base pads + grams kit. The brand new one (mec gar body + Henning base + rune kit) gave me 1 malfunction after 250 rounds. It was a failure to eject, so I’m guessing that’s an extractor issue.

Hows the reliability been on your tanfos overall? I've been shooting rivals for about a year and a half and love them but ive wanted a stock 2 for a long time. @@vmanshooting

@@calitovegas408 Honestly it's just been these mags that have been giving me issues. The gun itself runs like a champ and I hardly clean it. So far I probably have around 5k rounds total through both of them. For 100% reliablity, I will switch to my stock mags with the stock followers.

Nice!!! I ran that same classifier in my classifier match that I was talking to you about a couple weeks ago. The video is uploaded on my channel now (warning: it’s very boring and slow) I achieved B class after my 9 months of USPSA so I’m happy with it. If I’m being honest with myself I think I’m probably still C class on average. I got saved by an 84% run. Anyways, eager to hear your thoughts if you have time to watch! Great shooting as always

congrats man. B class so early! I just finished watching it. You did well but there are some fundamental areas where I think you can quickly improve on. Will comment on your video.

the dreaded Tanfo ejection issues. Try changing to a new OEM firing pin spring. A Soft/worn out/clipped spring can actually cause ejection issues believe it or not. The firing pin spring is fighting the inertia of the slide when it recoils. a worn spring will allow the firing pin to push the fired case off the breech face. its worth a shot. been chasing my tail off with this issue for a long time.

I’m fairly certain it’s a magazine issue. When I go back to stock mags I never have an issue. I’ll be testing out a brand new set of mags soon and hopefully it gets sorted out. Otherwise, I’ll just use the 18-round mags

ever since i started shooting this year ive had my eye on the tanfos, i just made A w my pdp but ive still been considering the switch. This video made me hesitant tho lol

haha, hey man I must be a terrible caretaker of guns. I had worse issues with my CZ Shadow 2. The only gun that has always worked for me was my Glock 34. There are a handful of local Tanfo shooters and they never have issues.

And we have those type of days when we are trying to push it. Malfs are a bitch and they seem just make the day worse because you feel way behind altogether. It's hard to make up that amount of time so instead of trying to be smooth, we just keep thinking about time lost and push ourselves out of rhythm. Trying to climb the ladder in this sport is tough, it's tougher when things go wrong. We have all been there numerous times...shake it off, get back to work. Be cool bro

Thank you man. I reviewed the film and found over 10s of obvious mistakes to fix. I’m looking forward to working through it. My training needs to include much higher HF mini stages, tighter fault lines, and steel!

these were actually brand new Rune springs. I actually changed a new set of mags/basepads/springs this last week and experience 1 double feed. someone told me it's because my springs were too strong and I needed to break the spring in. hopefully this issue goes away next week.
