About 7 weeks no contact after a 5.5 year relationship and engagement… I think he fears intimacy and commitment. We agreed on our wedding venue and two days later he became unsure then broke up with me about 3 weeks later/decided he didn’t want to be with me at all then blamed everything on me.

After a year itogether in September my ex-girlfriend and I went our separate ways after we couldn't meet on common ground when it came to her alcohol use. I wanted to do counseling together about it and she did not. 1 November is when my no contact started when she told me the guy she had been dating for a month was starting to get serious. I've learned a lot in this short amount of time. Particularly when it was 8 months before I met her children and was around them for a year and a half. And now all of them are already living with the much older guy she moved in with her. The sting for me was the attachment to the children who are 10 and 12 that I had a tight bond with If anything it's been more of an incentive to go no contact and not reach out. Use these videos to work on yourself the same way you would as if you're going to the gym. I say that because I'm honest enough to tell myself that my baseline attachment style is an anxious one. And that watching the videos and doing the work will help achieve a secure attachment style.

Odds are they are not coming back. While coach Craig has some very helpful insight on attachment styles and how you can become a better partner, when it comes to this, I believe they very rarely come back. My ex left me for another guy just over a year ago (after obviously saying there was no one else) and got engaged only 9 months later. Don’t hold out hope, but rather just keep moving forward and do the best you can every day to remind yourself that if you did things right, what more can you ask for.

Im only 2 wks into No Contact. Have been here before and watched Craigs videos. I was an improved ME for this relationship. But we were opposites where communication was key. 3 times in an 11 month relationship we broke up for afew days, only to get back together. She has a weight issue...saying if she gained 3 stone i wouldn't find her desirable or want to have sex as much. I said, im in love with YOU...whether you lost a leg or gained weight, im in love with YOU. Im so shocked at her ended what was such a loving and wonderful 11 months. I find that the attachment style tests are pretty effective the first time. But despite the best intentions, most people who tested insecurely attached normally went and did a lot of research and learning in the meantime and they learn the definitions of each attachment style and what attitudes and behaviours to develop that create secure attachment. When taking follow up tests, people know the right things to say and once you know what the answers are it becomes impossible almost to be 100% genuine in your test answers, either as because they’re cheating, or just wishful thinking, or that they have learnt what the secure behaviours are but haven’t accepted them and committed to change just yet.

It’s about 9 months since my ex suddenly walked out and then ghosted me. We were together 5 years and she was the love of my life. She agreed to meet me one month after she had left, after ignoring / ghosting me. Then when we met handed me a contract to sign and told me it was over. No explanation. She went back to ghosting me. I let her collect her things from the house over 4 weeks when I was out. When she came to collect the last of her things I was home and confronted her and asked to talk. She just told me she wasn’t respected, and kept laughing in my face, as I was in tears. I have never loved or respected someone as much as her, and never will again because I am broken. I think about ending my life, because I can’t live with these thoughts anymore.

That is pretty much exactly true it is repeating behavior patterns. Fearful avoidant people fear abandonment and commitment hence that's why the married affair partner isn't going to release the marriage until they monkey branch into the new relationship. (This is also true with dismissive avoidant personality type people as well) Dismissive avoidant personality type people have a fear of commitment with an underlying fear of abandonment but keep the fear of abandonment hidden except for when they have affairs. A secure attachment personality type person doesn't have a fear of abandonment they just end the relationship and or marriage no problem. Very important to recognize the four attachment nersonalitv stvles in existence every single person fits into one of the four categories: 1. Pre Occupied Anxious Attachment Personality Style stands for I'm afraid of abandonment and I second guess myself. I can't make it on my own and I'm a people pleaser and I let people walk all over me as long as they don’t leave me alone. Some people refer to me as an empath without healthy boundaries.  2. Secure Attachment Personality Style stands for I’m okay being on my own, I'm okay being in a relationship as well. I don't experience anxiety or fear from being single and I don't experience fear or anxiety from being in a relationship. I'm a healthy minded adult that knows how to enter and exit a relationship safely. People refer to me as an empath with healthy boundaries. 3. Fearful Avoidant Attachment Personality Style stands for I'm scared to be alone sometimes and I'm afraid to commit sometimes. I'II be into you one minute and interested in someone else the next minute and interested in someone else the next minute. People refer to me as covert and sometimes overt narcissists. 4. Dismissive Avoidant Attachment Personality Style stands for I didn't get my emotional needs met in childhood. I had to self sooth myself and I got used to doing that. I am not changing for you or anyone else. I have a fear of commitment with an underlying fear of abandonment but I will never show you or anyone my fear of abandonment side. I put myself out there as an independent person that needs no one. Some refer to me as the covert narcissist. The only attachment style that won't engage in an affair would be a secure attachment personality style person. Find out who you're dating but DO NOT TRY TO CHANGE THEM OR FIX THEM, THAT ISN'T YOUR JOB. Let them be their authentic self so you'll know they're capable of in their future not yours. Once you find out if they aren't secure attachment personality style, you know what to do. Now you know they are capable of engaging in affairs, it's up to you if you want to invest your time money emotions your life into that. Some people are assets and some are liabilities or bills. If you know they're authentically a secure person by themselves you won't have to worry about them having an affair. There, just saved you time energy and money and emotional agony. You're welcome 😁
