"Voice" is my favorite cluppo song! When she hits that chorus... I could listen to stuff like this by her all day!

Miku is a genius. Originally not keen on all of the first three songs on this EP, but after hearing all six I realised what was going on and now I love all of this EP. The world needs more of Cluppo. Try FuwaFuwa and Superstar. One of the members of her band on this EP is the drummer from the band Unchain. Miku asked the other members of Band-Maid were interested in being involved in her project, but all declined. I guess that they are all busy, but she just has so much more energy and enthusiasm all the time, so now we have Cluppo- thank God. Great reaction- Thanks.

*Miku Kobato* is more of the back bone of *BAND-MAID* than what you may have perceived her to be... not only being the back up singer and rhythm guitarist she is really the person to come up with the concept of *BAND-MAID* and it was her idea to bring on another singer for the stye of music that she was going for. When they was thinking of a 2nd guitarist *Miku* decided to learn how to play the guitar and be the rhythm guitarist. Most of *BAND-MAID* studio album will contain 1 or 2 songs where *Miku* is the lead singer.

Voice is absolute great song , this song can easily chart on American radio, miku is a vocal powerhouse

I view Cluppo as Miku riffing on pop styles, in an intelligent way. Each song is a different take on a pop style.

Miku adds such emotion to every song she sings. Either the happy , light, playful side or the tear jerker that in Daydreaming for Band Maid she pulls off with just a few words. I am sure she could have been a presenter full time or an actress. She managed to push the other band members to the front to make them more confident. I alway say Give Miku a book on brain surgery or fighting and she could master those in a week. No Miku, no Band Maid. The others call her the old man in a young woman's body. She is well read and is happy going off on her own to explore new places. Miku will save the World given half a chance.

Great comments about what Miku is trying to do with Cluppo vs. Band-Maid. Even though her new genre of "Hippie-Poppo" is not my everyday jam, I do love Voices and Flapping Wings. They have big fat melodies and some interesting instrumentation to back it up. Plus, it's always nice to hear Miku on solo vocals.

Akane is a big fan of Cluppo. Suggestion: do a back-to-back of Sayonakidori. It’s a Miku written song with BAND-MAID. First listen to the live version then the acoustic version she played for their Christmas special with only Akane and Misa backing her up. Oh yeah, the Christmas special is all acoustic. It shows just how good Kanami is as a songwriter.

Peace and Love and Pogo are great J-pop tunes as well. Miku obviously has a strong hippiepopo heart. On BAnd-Maid fan site they have the behind the scenes of the online Day of Maid stream (May 10, 2021) Cluppo was the opening act and Akane and Misa were her most supportive and enthusiastic audience, Akane has even learned the choreography from Peace and Love. The degree to which they support and encourage each other is heart warming.

Yes, I've seen a quite a few of 'this is not for me' comments, but I too find cluppo's songs very 'refreshing' when they pop up in my playlist. Maybe I'm biased and prejudiced, but I just like watching Miku grow and find new ways to express her creativity, which she undoubtedly has a lot of. Or in other words, I like to watch this pigeon fly and just wish for her to fly higher and further. 🕊🤘🏻 Regarding the tracklist of cluppo's EP 'hatoful', there is an interesting theory about the song titles and that they are a homage to her bandmates. Since my head doesn't really want to formulate thoughts today, let alone translate them into English, I'll just quote from a Reddit post about it here. 🤭 - - - - - 💠PEACE&LOVE (Misa, the hippie) - A grunge/alternative three-chord structure; the type of music Misa likes and used to play in bands. 💠POGO! (Akane, the gorilla) - Very much a “club banger”, something DJ Achi (yes she is also a DJ) would play in her set, but with sneakily intricate drum patterns (especially hi-hats) working under the four-on-the-floor beat. I wasn’t sure what to think of this title when I noticed the other connections, then I discovered Pogo was a famous "motherly" gorilla from the San Francisco zoo. 💠Flapping wings (Kobato, the pigeon) - The heavily autotuned vocals and synth instrumentals in the intro make it sound almost vocaloid-like. Then the song becomes super energetic, in-your-face, even the slow parts have a certain “coiled snake” intensity. A combination of what Kobato likes and how she is. 💠ふわふわ, or FuwaFuwa (Kanami, the genial) - Densely orchestrated and pleasantly hooky, with the highest vocals notes on the album in a tone reminiscent of Kanami's voice (especially the backing vocals). It even has a bass breakdown followed by a short guitar solo! 💠voice (Saiki, the vocalist) - With electropop-inspired vocals in the opening, this edgy city pop number has the deepest vocal tones in the album during its chorus, where cluppo does her best Saiki voice whilst singing unisons and octaves in her own natural tone. 💠スーパースター, or Super star (Inspiration and goal) - “all of them”. It has the spirit of a Shiina Ringo song, supposedly one of cluppo’s biggest inspirations. Being her most complex song, with changes in tempo, time signature and key, with a spoken word passage directly quoting a classic work of a many-centuries-old playwright and finishing off on a passionate note, I think of Super star as cluppo’s Sayonakidori. A song that bridges the extremes of “wanting” and “achieving”. I even believe we could see the wah-wah guitar solo performed by cluppo herself live. - - - - - As calculated and thoughtful as Miku is, I wouldn't be surprised if this interpretation is 100% correct. 🕊🤭 I have no idea how to put it, but I have a soft spot for this young lady who has so much more to offer than meets the eye when you see her in her maid costume. 😇 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. "With You" is my favorite Cluppo song, though you made me listen more closely to "Voices". If you want more Kobato then I suggest listening to "Sayonakidori" on which she sings lead. Both the live from Eggman Shibuya and the Christmas Acoustic version. You can't go wrong with "Giovanni", if you have time listen to the album version (with vocals) and then their instrumental version. (I don't remember if you've reacted to any of the "white room" instrumentals... lord, you're going to need another 3-day weekend.) Thanks for the reaction!

Voice is an amazing track, her best Cluppo song imo. Her voice is beautiful and the chorus dropping in is perfect. Yes everybody's taste changes as well as Band Maid I also have a 17th century choral music list saved on YT, try telling that to my 17 year old self lol !

Miku and 2 other girls won a contest with over 2,000 entrants for a place in a new idol group (lil cumin) in Tokyo the year before she set Band-Maid in motion. She may be only about 100 pounds (45kg) but she's far from a light weight.

With You has a great music video as well as a great song. It's fun.

I love how Miku just dumps the duck because it's not a pigeon. Also in Japan they don't differentiate between a pigeon and a dove. With the dove being the symbol of peace of course

She has never said who crow or the crows are. Theory is crow is really Kanami because she writes all of the band maid music, and Kanami can play many instruments and genres. No one knows for sure, just a theory. Miku is the founder of bandmaid, its leader and the one who put it all together and then she did Cluppo, mainly to do music that doesnt fit in band maid but more suited to her voice.

A little pensive about Giovanni. 🧠 Good luck putting it back in...Also, hopefully you found the instrumental version of Giovanni as well as the album track with vocals. Compositionally, I think Blooming, Giovanni, Without Holding Back and From Now On are the most classically masterful...then there's Black Hole, the 220 BpM interstellar experimental leviathan. And with Hate?...well, let's just say that Taylor Swift ain't got nothin' on Saiki when it comes to scorned lover teardown lyricism.

Still not really my thing as it's overall a bit too poppy for me to be able to enjoy it every day, but I do listen to the EP every once in a while. I personally prefer the 3 tracks that don't have music videos, especially ふわふわ (fuwafuwa) and スーパースター (superstar). Superstar is probably my favourite of the bunch as it reminds me a bit of some other genres next to the poppy part, which makes it a bit more interesting for me. I have given a couple of other poppy projects a shot that are related to Japanese bands I love. Tricot for example, Ikkyu Nakajima has the pop projects Genie High (with someone from "Gesu no Kiwami Otome", a little less for me, but still interesting) and Susu (more dreampop, but I enjoy it) and she is also going to release a solo project under her own name which sounds to be a bit more pop rock from what I can hear from the teaser. The rock musicians over the seem to be able to create pop music that is still interesting to listen to if you want more things going on in your music. An other J-Pop project that I do really like and also has interesting music is Zutomayo, the (anonymous) vocalist apparently originally started out as singer/songwriter and the live shows are just a sight to behold with 15+ people on stage.

Cluppo is the start of the end of bandmaid miku realizing she isn't the center of attention as their popularity has grown her super enlarged ego will destroy the very thing she started it will be hard for the other four to make it on their own but those four are far superior musicians and vocals you might say how can you love bandmaid without miku well I for one already do
