Great cover and work in getting it from fancams. I don't even think MISA has done an SML isolation on Band-Maid Prime. The thing I like about MISA's part-writing is she puts meaningful color and weight where it fits with the song, rather than just plodding along with the main melody or trying to cram a lot of virtuoso jamming where it doesn't belong. She's definitely a "lead bass," but never overdoes it.

Enjoyed it!! Great work. And also again come to appreciate the great song writing of Bandmaid.

I guess Akane was probably using both feet for that double kick part when they made the song - bet she can do it one-footed now (and possibly in her sleep).

Awesome. Keep moving forward. Thank you for making an effort to appreciate BAND-MAID/MISA just a tad bit more by playing her bass riffs. Pretty darn cool.

Nice one. I don’t think there’s You on there, but consider Band-Maid Prime, where they have solo member views playing through their songs, which makes it easier to hear, and give you a visual reference of what they’re doing. The Misa self-cover of Corallium was really eye opening for me. Helped me appreciate the song more. She’s pretty hard to hear in the studio track.

Thanks! I don’t think any of the Just Bring It Misa solo tracks exist on Prime but I hear they get played on live shows.

Nice attempt on the cover. Might be worth grabbing some pyramid/larger triangular style plectrums for Misa/Koga covers as they slip less in the hand with thicker bass strings. JBI was my first Band-Maid album and also the only one I've since also got the vinyl for (the artwork deserves a full gatefold size sleeve). Although it's less complicated than the albums/EPs that come afterwards, it's already got all the hallmarks of their signature writing/sound and because of the less aggressive mastering I find it far less fatiguing on the ears, making it perfect for repeat listens whilst driving.

Thanks, Andy! I’ve tried those bigger picks but I never liked them much. I like the .88 Dunlops for guitar and bass. Tough to grip when my hands get sweaty though😅
@guitarandy240612 күн бұрын
@@YoMota Outside of bass playing I'm exactly the same in terms of not liking them as picks, but was also stubborn and had to try a few different variants before finding one that worked for me. For guitar I'm mainly 1mm Tortex Jazz 3XLs now after years of using the regular Tortex.
@YoMota8 күн бұрын
@@guitarandy2406 I see your point. I'm working on something else from JBI (hopefully out today or tomorrow) and having one of those broader picks would probably help 😆

Yeah, I'd say they're doing rather well, it's pretty fun to see bands like NEK!, Paleneo, Hagane and others pretty much from the get-go. Kind of reminds me of following Nemophila's early covers to see them blowing up. It's also nice to not have to deal with overly conceited fanbases (interestingly only the foreign ones...), if you saw Hagane's latest premiere being used by a lot of Trolls just to talk sh#t you'll probably know whom I speak of :/ All that said, I'd very much enjoy seeinb you do DEZOLVE - Heart of The World ( kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNGpdbV8p9HZfY0.html ). It's kind of hard to describe, maybe jazz-fusion-pop-rock. Awesome musicianship doesn't exclusively come from all-girl bands :) Plus, I'd love to see you do that bass part 😈

This was nice. I struggle with Gacharic Spin. The first time I heard them was Mindset, which I liked, especially Angie's vocals, but I poked around a bit more and wasn't finding a second song I could really get into. I feel like sometimes they can get too high concept, or there are maybe too many ideas, and I can't follow a throughline. I'll have to check out more. By contrast, I love Band-Maid, and I think part of their secret sauce is just ... discretion? Their writing can go nuts, but I think Saiki works as like an editor for the writing. They're basically a prog band, but they use their vocals, largely, to keep it catchy and grounded. I think in the process, they discard a lot of songs, and just that exercise of editorial discretion makes it so that I basically like 100% of their output.

Seems like the outfits are their version of Band-Maid's battle armor. They'll probably change seasonally, like after the album or whatever. Looking forward to the album. I like to imagine the legacy of Band-Maid will just be to inspire everyone to put more effort into whatever they do.

Kanami has been described as someone who has to keep writing music. It keeps flowing and doesn’t stop. So when they need a song Kanami scrolls through what she already has and choses one that sounds like it will work.

MISA want's to plat her bass in such a way that when people think about bass in music they think about her. I think she has achieved this already. She loves to play in front of us but prefers for her music to do the talking.

MISA, Akane and Kanami's formal training/schooling really comes out on these type songs. Kanami has so many songs in her quiver where she can pull one out, fire it at the girls and into the studio in a heartbeat......... I can say the same for Miku and her lyrics.

This song is so catchy and yet so experimental! Love where Saiki goes falsetto with Islamic flavour, the little Koto or Sitar coming in after the first chorus, One of my favourite solos by Kanami and the final assault from the Band-Maid gang and what a finish! Love it so much 😍
