Honestly, Chat has been really helpful in the past not just for this. It provides scriptural references when all I can remember are the words or the general story. Also, the bot will actually wish you blessings on you spiritual journey. That's just a nice touch.

Wao!! Thank you for this. And thank you for exposing the positive side of ChatGpt. I just used it for creating an in depth study on Genesis 8 and and Acts 9. I even asked for an hermaneutics and exegesis aproach with a comparison of ESV version and NIV. Amazing. I have been trying to study on my own and have asked my church leadership for help but I am not getting a positive response and I understand they are busy. This helps, and watching you and Mike W. has been a blessing. Thank you.

Allen, try making a video for using "Microsoft Co-Pilot" The difference between "Chat GPT" and "Microsoft Co-Pilot" is that "Microsoft Co-Pilot" offers recommended responses to include other subtopics that you can expand on.

I use Chat GPT a lot but mostly for studying Linux and coding, it's an amazing tool. It's not always 100% accurate but it's right most of the time. What I love most of all is being able to have an almost human-like conversation about a subject. When doing coding I'll ask about a concept and get an answer, then I'll ask for a variation of that to be sure I fully understand the parameters of the situation. This is a great help to understand a subject. It's very much like learning from a teacher that will answer questions you have as well. I haven't used it for Bible questions yet but I'm going to start doing that now! Just last night when reading the book of Mark I had a question: "Why does the book of Mark show Jesus healing Simon's mother-in-law before he first meets Simon when he's fishing?" I just did that in Chat GPT and got the answer in about 3 seconds. I spent about 10 minutes searching web sites from a search engine query last night and found the same information. I think it's a wonderful tool but I'm not about to have Chat GPT make moral decision for me. I'm not going to ask it "Is it a sin to do (this or that)?" But I would ask for Bible references about that subject to go look up what God's word says about it.

I admit that I was very skeptical in the beginning of your video, but I'm pleased that I watched it in it's entirety...well, with 2 minutes to go. Question: What is the remedy for any erroneous information given by the Chat, other than ignoring it for own use? There will be error, for only God is perfect. Secondly, we, as the Body of Christ really need to be aware of the false teachers that will use this to deceive us into thinking they are genuine. As you mentioned before, this is to be a study tool, Chat is not the Holy Spirit. Well said.

There are also different types of AI under the "ChatGPT" banner, one of which is "Scholar GPT." It can also post Hebrew and Greek, and translate. Great resource. Before you did this video, I used "Scholar GPT" to post both Hebrew and Greek.

It has never occurred to me that chatGPT could be of help to studying the Bible because I have been using it for coding or math problems. What a fascinating idea! But due to AI hallucinations, you need to be careful of using it and sometimes to double check the output.

Pretty amazing stuff. I'm preparing a video right now on how AI actually works and why it can do what it does -- I've worked in AI development -- and this is a valuable use case for how it can benefit Christians. There are dangers involved in AI and those are starting to impact Christians as well as others, but like any tool AI can be used for good as well. And with the caveats you laid out in the beginning, it can be very useful for Christian growth.

I actually did this the other week for the first time, asking questions like "who was Shemaiah in the book of Jeremiah?" and then "Give me a synopsis of chapter 29 in the book of Jeremiah in the bible." Asking these sorts of questions help me to understand and gives context to what i'm reading, especially if i've chosen a random chapter &/or verse in one of the historical books in the bible.

Just like any tool, ChatGPT can be incredibly beneficial, but their effectiveness hinges on how we wield them. This is where your guidance shines - you help show us the positive and productive ways to leverage this technology. As AI continues to evolve, responsible use through education and leadership like yours is crucial to avoid misuse. Otherwise, our people suffer from lack of knowledge. After all, when it comes to studying the bible and practicing discernment, AI is simply a Complimentary Tool, not a Complete Takeover. The people that commented before they watched the video, probably used AI to summarize it before watching it 🤣

I am personally using GPT for translating and explaining words from Hebrew. Very cool. U only need to give the ai proper tasks and not allow it to sip in its own thoughts but simply give you facts and cross check them.

I want to be a christian game developer and Chat GPT helped me come up with an idea... Vaguely. Like, it definitely doesnt give any ideas that are fully baked, it cant actually be creative. But it did mention the armor of God in relation to a videogame, and I just realized its so obvious but such a good idea. A metroidvania type game where you collect the armor of God. Like, it just makes sense. And ive kind of added to that in that, the armor of God is defensive, even the sword is a type of sort you only use in self defence .So the combat would basically be based around that, attacking directly would do chip damage, you need to defend, and counter attack to deal meaningful damage.

At work (education) we had to go to chatgpt workshops and what we learned it is, we should not use it for more then research. An even then, everything! has to be checked. Chat gpt lies and hallucinates and makes mistakes. Personal I think we as Christians should not use it for more then research like finding topics or something like this. Chatgpt is not spirit filled, and we as Christians should not get lazy. There are more and more KZfaq channels and blogs who use chatgpt only and they bring out content which includes a lot of false informations. So chatgpt will also use these false informations and people too. It will get harder and harder to find the truth with chatgpt, especially for Christians in the future. So please don't encourage people to use it and get more lazy, and believing false informations because people will stop checking if it's true.

I like this video and want to see more like this. Just remember that it says what it has learned from its training data much (MUCH) more readily than it thinks things through. Summaries are highly linguistic, and it does think linguistically pretty well - it pattern matches and transforms language at a very high level of proficiency... It's commentaries are the consensus from *whatever* data was used to train it. A lot of it is generally secular and specifically promoting of things that are antithetical to the message God sent to humanity in the person of His Christ, Jesus our Master. Check everything! WE ARE EASILY DECIEVED in this culture - we've been trained for it. So double check, just like they did in Acts 17 after listening to the preacher - even for their preachers - they went home and considered whether *or not* it aligns with God's Word. ChatGPT is a *wonderful* technology. Understand that it is NOT thinking like a person, EVEN THOUGH it phrases things as though it is! Essentially, it's can debate with pizzazz and seem to prove absurdly false things, especially to the uncritical ear.

I’d encourage you to make a correction. Sometime between 11:00 and 11:30 you say it’s free. But that is for 3.5 which I don’t trust to be as accurate. You are using 4.0 which means that you are paying $20 / mo.

Alan, I don't know how you're getting ChatGPT to create an image. Are you using a paid version? I tried (shortcutting your request): Please create an image that explains Daniel in the lions den ChatGPT I can't create images directly, but I can certainly describe how you might create one! To depict the story of Daniel in the lions' den, you could start with a scene set in ancient Babylon, with the city's architecture in the background. Daniel, a figure in simple robes, could be shown kneeling or sitting in the den, surrounded by lions. The lions could be depicted as majestic and regal rather than aggressive, perhaps with a sense of peace and calm around them. Above the den, you could show a heavenly light or an angel watching over Daniel, representing God's protection. The composition should focus on Daniel's calmness and faith amidst the threat of the lions, emphasizing the miraculous aspect of the story. You can store your chats in collections (aka folders) and, most importantly, Perplexity gives you a list of the resources it used for its answers.
