The forms of the verb "to love" in the present tense:
1st Person Singular: Люблю
2nd Person Singular: Любишь
3rd Person Singular: Любит
1st Person Plural: Любим
2nd Person Plural: Любите
3rd Person Plural: Любят

I say it that way too and there is several songs in Russian that say it that way.

@@annabellemalone1630 It's absolutely correct. It depends on what we would like to emphasize. When we say "я люблю тебя", we actually put stress on the person we love, the exact person. When we say "я тебя люблю" , the most important word is люблю, it is at the end of the sentence, the most important place.
