Great cover of the Elias' McDaniel 1955 song "I'm A Man". Elias' nickname: Bo Diddley. Many covers since then, including the Yardbirds. Tom Petty felt like my brother. Shit, I still can't accept that he's gone. I listen to him and the band daily. .................HPB Gainesville, FL

This is Bo's song, but this is this pure Yardbirds tribute - deservedly so.

🎑🔹I was privileged and joyful to See Tom Petty @ Market Square Arena in 1990 . Sometimes it's a little bit easier; but not much. I come back to Everything PETTY and He ain't Gone........ He's just on the 0ther Side O' the World 🌍 on Tour . 💗🎸🎶🎶💥 🎶🌅⛵💥

@@josephroache3176 Bo did "I'm a Man" and Muddy Waters did "Manish Boy" They are similar but different. It traces to a friendly rivalry that Bo and Muddy had while they were recording on Chess Records. Check out the Super Blues with Bo, Muddy and Little Walter.

Had to be such gratification these guys felt looking out and listening to the deafening roar of all the fans....cuz they could remember the early days....playing to paltry crowds. But they never ever forgot who they were or where they came from. Grats to them esp for that.

I love it when I come upon TP&H doing covers; van morrison, your mystic eyes, never will listen to that song the same way again; in studio Hank Williams The Lost Highway spooky reproduction of his voice etc. They were all having such a great time together on this song, know what you mean about the crowds but they were so tight, sometimes I think they were in this really safe bubble and I know Tom would go off into a mystic world on his own sometimes -- never will be a band like that, bless them all.

I still can't get over the fact that he fronted a band called the Heartbreakers and he goes and dies from a heart attack. Such Irony.

Everybody keeps saying this is a yardbirds song and I agree they made it famous, but this was from Bo Diddley.
