Id rather be on the farm in that weather than in cities, or towns in the sunshine. I miss working stock with good dogs.

quintessential kiwi, wish you all the best, too old to do that life anymore but love to relive my earlier days vicariously through these videos, we never had bikes, it was all horses

Just be careful with the breaks on new machine. Saw our contract fencers one go over a 80m cliff. It was parked only with the foot brake applied and not in park. Very hot day and apparently the break line has a pressure relief valve, which let go, causing it to free wheel to its death.

Highly recommend the HD 8 or 9 as it is now. I'm very impressed with ours on the hill country, heaps of power and the stability is great.

Love your channel, being a retired farmer,I have some laughs,like washing the bike ,,feeding the dogs,all things we used to do,been 5 years now,but I still think about the dogs at 5 at night,it never goes away ,p.s.,put some longs on ,you will suffer in later life,,,take a fools advice. Keep farming with your family.

Hi Richard thanks for watching. Glad you get some laughs out of it. I do wear pants sometimes when it's cold. My knees feel it all ready sometimes.

We've had 91mm since midnight at Rapaura (NW of Blenheim). It took me ages to get home from town today. I'd try a road, hit a flood, turn around, try another road, hit a flood. Close to the SH1 and SH6 intersection a big cast iron manhole cover had been pushed out of the road and water was well and truly gushing out of the road. Thankfully they'd coned it off. Weather like this must make your life hard!

Yea it makes it harder and frustrating but it's all part of the job. I should see how my Dad got on in Linkwater.

Mate global supply issues are crazy. My folks have been waiting on their new campervan for 8 months and counting. I'm tracking it on the 'my shipping app' and it's on a ship called the Titania and it's currently in the middle of the Atlantic. It's due into Auckland on the 16th of Aug

Hi Alistair, The new Side by side looks great and should work well for you. Yes it was pretty wet yesterday and the Eyre is up, At least the bridge is pretty close by!
@kiwifarmernz
@kiwifarmernz 2 жыл бұрын
Yea, most of the standing water drained away quite fast which is good. It's not too much of a detour over the bridge.

Cool lil canam dude!, have you not considered a cheap 4wd ute before for the farm, these days would almost be just as cheap as a side-by-side once u add in servicing ect. Been flooding up here in the Waikato for the last few days. Mud calving is always fun times.
@kiwifarmernz
@kiwifarmernz 2 жыл бұрын
I have considered a smaller 4wd ute but our tracks are tight and steep, We wouldn't get it the same places as a side by side. I know what you mean in regards to servicing ect tho.

Good evening Kiwi Farmer. Hope you feeling better mate. Your Georgia is adorable and so helpful. Hope the rain blows itself out before lambing gets underway. I guess you don’t want it too wet for a few weeks then. I’m hoping to buy store lambs but the fat trade is still way too hot....£120/130per head. I will sit out until harvest starts and hope the trade drops a bit coz I don’t want to sell until Xmas.....have way too much grass tho ! Take care.

Thanks Mark. She is a good kid. The store market is hot here too. Good for us selling into it. Good luck finding some within your budget.
