The other horrifying undertone of the plot is that its obvious the movie is implying that Albert defies his default & goes to the dance cause he's becoming sentient; so he has feelings for the main chick- but when she rejects him he basically kills himself.

My favorite part of teen movies are the incredibly huge crowd of onlookers ready to snicker at the antagonist's taunts. Like, sure I get four, five, maybe as many as ten people in the group watching, but you got like 30+ people there.

As a person in high school I agree. If some girls are fighting over a boy or whatever not 30 people are gonna be there watching and laughing. I remember once 2 guys had a fight at the Christmas party near the food table and half the people were just chilling in the bathroom and the other half was standing there cuz they were trying to get food, like 2 people were actually watching lol. no one cares in real life....
