I'm changing my audio tuning setup!

Today I'm showing my old tuning setup for car audio and I'm setting up my new RTA. I need to tune an audio system in a Pro Touring 67 Camaro at Outlaw Garage (hot rod shop) and I'm hoping to streamline my setup. We try connecting to the Audio Control DM-RTA with an iPad and M1 MacBook PRO over bluetooth and USB. My tuning setup needs to me easy to setup and reliable! I GO THRU THE AGONY SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO!

Doug, you need a CR2032 battery for the Stinkpad. You can get them from any grocery store or mini mart or whatever. You'll need to swap it out on the Stinkpad and then reset the date and it should remember again for a few more years. You'll need to google how to get to it for your specific stinkpad model

I have AC Dm-608 connected to my iPad. It was a giant pain to get it setup, firmware updates etc. But works good now that it's setup.

If you switch to Helix / Brax all you need is a laptop and a mic .

Are those OEM 09-14 F-150 headlights up there by the old old RTA? What kind of shape are they in, and are you looking to get rid of them?

Just curious if you tried to connect via bluetooth on the macbook or just on the ipad? dont know if it would make a difference or not, but may be worth a try.

Might need one of those "OTG" cables. I know for example my android phone a typical USB-C to oldschool USB dongles dont work for things like flash drives and shit. Need an OTG cable/dongle in order to get actual data transfer going both ways.

Go to settings then find the app towards the bottom of the menu. Make sure the app has access to bluetooth. On the overly cautious side, enable the app to have access to everything, like local network, etc.

You can run audio tools and use a UMIK-1 or a Dayton UMM-6. For an RTA. If the amp has an app you can adjust it with the ipad. I prefer ipad to RTA and Laptop for adjustments. Oh damn you needed phantom power on that mic.

Most likely the apps don’t like you unplugging the usb when the app is running and then trying to plug the usb back in. As to it being a limitation to the software in general or because it’s an m1/Mac issue I don’t know. I’ve had some software for devices behave that way on both windows and macOS with my MacBook that has not an m1 and doesn’t need a dongle.

check bluetooth settings (should be a little gear symbol next to device name in bluetooth pair list) there should be a list of options with sliders for what the device is capable of, i suggest turning them all on. For the usb, im prettuy sure your dongle is an otg adapter dongle like for cell phones or tablets, you need a regular pc usb c(mac mini) to usb a adapter. u can try the settings fix next time instead of the hard reset. LOL i watched to the end and u figured out that your dongle is otg and you needed a device that has a root controller like a hub or adapter. dang wish i watched live coulda saved you time.

For streaming the acbt-24 is awesome. Hi-res all day. For making a quick tuning adjustment via my phone or tablet in the dsp app is absolute shit. It's fucking horrible. There is a precise sequence you got to remember n it's just easier getting the laptop for the usb........

I hate mac for anything but been there your problem is your Bluetooth is connecting for music and not data transfer you need to connect in a different Bluetooth menu I think it is add a device.

AC bluetooth is junk. I'd mess with it for half an hour before I could connect to DSP restarting and waiting etc. and then Id start the car and lose all my changes. nice.

Not trying to be rude but i hope you have a electric swap for the van motor. I think gas will be obsolete by the time you get it done. You do live in the worst state. Doug says in his info about the history of soundman, he says he was known for his iPad installs in the 80s and 90s. Where did he get this equipment? Is he from the future? Furthermore, he says soundman is known for world famous patented injection molded dash kits? You know good and well he's never patented anything. Of course, I've never fact checked any of this, but he just looks like a liar.
