★ RULES ★
-If a pokemon faints, it must be permanently placed inside PC Box
-Can only catch the first pokemon encountered in each route.
-Must nickname every pokemon caught (will be named after someone in Fruit Nation)
-Every wild pokemon encounter, static pokemon encounter, trainer pokemon, and items received in the wild are randomized.
-If we black out, we lose.
-Each encounter is paired with each other making them "soul linked"
-If one person fails to catch their encounter or knocks it out, the other person forfeits the encounter as well
-If one persons Pokemon in a soul link is put in the PC or knocked out than the other linked Pokemon must follow/share the same fate
-No repeat of primary types in each persons party

Four encounters Lake verity (the first place you went) The fisherman west of jubilife in the box gives you the old rod You can fish in the starting town and west of jubilife. You can also fish southeast of professor Rowan (thanks Micheal Schick for reminding me)

@@TenPace I find the subject quite difficult. I am German myself and try to describe how I understood the Nazi era. A person who is mentally and biologically above every other person is described as a Übermensch. In the end, however, the Nazis did not want to achieve that. They wanted to expand the German Empire and spread the German race. In addition, no religion other than Christianity should exist in the German Empire. The Jews, with Judaism, were a thorn in the side of the Nazis and they wanted to wipe them out in a radical way.

Rotom's forms always have Levitate and the different forms were introduced in Platinum. Rotom also is always a Electric/Ghost in gen 4, the type change was introduced in B/W

Day 2 of asking you guys to go back and get your Lake Variety grass encounter and to get the old rod and fish in Twinleaf Town and other towns you come across. Rotom's primary typing is electric in the electric/ghost duel typing. Electabuzz is pure electric. You guys mentioned at the start specific rules that would put that pair into question e.g. "No repeat of primary types in each persons party". Also, people in Britain say 'tom-art-oh', whilst Americans say 'tom-ate-oh'. Please name a Pokemon 'September'.

The "primary typing" rule did come out a little weird. I think it just means they can't have duplicate primary types in their own parties, but it's okay if they have the same types as each other. It seems to make more sense that way, since trying to split 17 types among 12 slots in a randomized nuzlocke while their pokemon are linked like this... would be really difficult. But I definitely agree that they should exhaust all of their encounter options ASAP.

I'm personally not a fan of the 'unique typing rule' even to the extent that they can't pair pokemon with the same type because what if their other encounters on a route are all dupes? Also, I just think it's a dumb rule anyway. There are certain typings with more Pokemon than others like flying normal and water and ones with far less that you'll be able to find probability wise. It seems like that original rule was just trying to copy and take the success of ShadyPenguin and TheKing 'Pedo' Nappy. Most soul lockers seem to copy their rules word for word for some reason.

He literally gave an example about the primary type in the last episode... its not about the pair but about one's party, its even stated in the description so how are u confused? He literally said he cant have in HIS pt two of the same type, same goes to Blue... they can have soul pair of the same type, even both of them can have e.g. fire type in their party, but one person cant have two fire types...

@@TheManInBlueFlames Yeah, I don't really like the rule, either. I don't know much about the history of this type of nuzlocke, but it seems like it's there for variety's sake. Especially with a randomizer, there's already gonna be plenty of variety, and pokemon aren't defined entirely by their type, but also their movesets, abilities, stats, and of course, their other type. Also, you're generally going to build a team with a variety of unique types anyway, so it's not like you'll be putting two fire types on your team intentionally. It adds a bit of a challenge, though, and might give them some interesting decision making with the soul link. (If either catches another electric type, they'll need to make a decision between which pair to keep, weighing the pros and cons of 4 pokemon, instead of just 2).

They gave ONE example and that was it. They didn't go into further detail nor did they detail what would happen if they got a Pokemon with a strange ability like colour change or Multitype.

I think the starly you found was for the day encounters. I did a randomized recently and I think the night Pokémon are completely different than the day encounters. That’s why you didn’t find and starlys, feraligators, or blazikens this episode

Yeah, every route is a little different, and there are also "morning" encounters in addition to the "day and night" encounters. For Route 202 (where he found Starly), this would be a 60% chance for Bidoof or Shinx at all 3 times, a 30/40/20% for Starly for morning/day/night, and 10/20% for Kricketot for morning/night. So, it's kinda odd, but we saw 6 different pokemon (I think, with castform, donphan, and slaking). I'm not sure how the randomizer goes about randomizing. From experience changing encounter tables while rom hacking, I know that there could be a LOT of different slots, so if the randomizer randomizes every slot separately, there'd be a lot of potential encounters. I thought randomizers just replaced the default encounters 1 for 1.

Perhaps it's just a rare encounter? I've done randomizers where I end up with one of the starters unrandomized because the roll landed on the same starter. He might just be incredibly unlucky with starly being rarer and being randomized into its original spot

Love you Fruit and Blue! Also I think in the event that the same family of Pokemon is encountered on a route in both games (like what almost happened with Magby and Magmar) something special should happen, like an extra encounter or some other new stipulation.

Mr Fruit & Blue, there are a few things I want to help you with. 1. On the route to the left, when you enter the building, there is a fisherman who gives you an old rod. Take that rod to go to that route to fish, what gives you an extra encounter. 2. Walk back to Lake Verity where you got your starters. You can get another encounter there, since your starters count as statics, you two can get a encounter in the grass. GO GET IT!! 3. I have to dissappoint you two, but the Electabuzz and Rotom is an illegal pair to use in a SoulLink. Rotoms primaire type is always Electric, which is obviously the same as Electabuzz. So this pair cant' be used. 4. There is also one item you 2 missed in Sandgem Town, below the shop you can go on a lil beach and there is an item you missed. You can get that if you want to, it could be something helpfull. You will pass it anyways when you go back to get a new pokemon at Lake Verity.

I finally finished my Bachelors degree today (yay me) and when watching the last episode I noticed that you started the Nuzlocke series with HeartGold just when I started the degree four years ago. Wild! Still love your content and it has led me through university (/college? I'm german and have no idea what to call it lol). I am so excited for this series btw!

You get the old rod from the guy in the red hat just before route 218. Then you can get an encounter on route 218 and back in your home town by fishing. You can also get an encounter in the grass at the lake where you picked your starter.

Quick reminder: You still have 4 encounters before rival battle: At the lake, Starting town with fishing rod, At the beach in the town next to it with rod and cavesystem north of the city you are currently in.

wow the soul link is so real: Both first pokemon are max evolve Gen 1, the Second is a base form of a 3 evolution pokemon, and the third is a electric type. they really matched up catches too its crazy
