Responding to any of you who are discrediting his achievement, yes there are other hoverboards and some even smaller, however none are for sale and if you look deeper you'd realize that these are projects made by companies with huge budgets, meanwhile this is way more impressive because this is essentially a homemade project of his own design done by one man who is in college and who doesn't have the resources a company would. If you used to bar in the middle to grab hold on to to make it more stable for you to hold on to or one on each side of you with the control mount it in the handle like a toy race car track set controller it will make it more stable for you instead of using your ankles and knees for stabilization. I'm all about improvement and thinking out the box you do a very good job at what you do . Proud of you

This is great and I like how you are doing this in steps and discovering problems and solving them as you move forward. You want input on next steps? I've seen other human piloted drones under development and one thing they all have in common is the pilot is always standing. I would like to see development moving toward making the craft more ergonomic and suitable for any adult who is able enough to fly it. I'm sure this will raise a whole range of issues to be solved, but hey, that's all part of the creative process. For example, I would like to see pilots be able to sit like people do in cars and other aircraft. I'd like to see more protection like harnesses and framing. Of course this is going to involve problems like weight bearing, not just to accommodate human bodies, but also the hardware and that will have impacts on power consumption, weight bearing and mobility. Good work and do continue this quest.

Here are some suggestions to make your project safer for you. That safety netting over the blades looks like a plastic variety of fabric, not metal. It looks like your hand could pierce one of those squares and get chopped off. Smaller squared net of cable would be much safer. But maybe the weight would be prohibitive. Why not have the blades overhead instead of under you? The center of gravity would then make the thing much more stable.
