Yes, this is why I don't watch YT streams. The chats are a mess, and a chat has to be pretty dead for a YTer to be able to read it. On Twitch you can have convos within chat, I've made actual friends that way, but YT is a fucking mess rn.

I wouldn't be too focused on shelf life and I only say that because you mentioned this a couple of times now. It is a reasonable concern, but one of the top German streamers - Gronkh - is 46 and averages 25k viewers on Twitch (I can only check last 30 days cause the rest is locked behind payment walls). Now obviously you can't jump from one person to another, but I think the typical decay is rather a problem for people that don't manage to adapt and adjust, and if you've shown one thing it's that you are really good at adapting and adjusting, while branching out and growing. It should also really not be underestimated how strong nostalgia is, it's not really a thing we have seen that often in content creation so far since, well, it's quite a young, new job, but the times I've seen it, it was able to resurrect dead or dying channels after a longer period of being gone (and well, only if the channel actually kept going). But best of luck to whats coming next for you and that Twitch + KZfaq works out as it already did!

This! I was actually expecting this to be what he decided to do. However, I assumed he’d do it by just not signing a contract with either of them. It’s legit impressive he talked KZfaq into allowing him to do this. Even though I’d prefer him to stay on KZfaq exclusively. I just think KZfaq is massively better from a viewers POV….e.g. I can rewind the stream while live, and they don’t run 8-12 ads, all at once, multiple times during a stream.

@Dranka5 that's like the only good things about KZfaq streaming, other than that, it's dogshit, because KZfaq wasn't made for streaming, they don't put any real effort into making it better, so it's always going to be the same, can't actually see who's streaming, no notifications for streams, the ui is awful to look at, overall, it's terrible compared to Twitch, even if the vods get instantly uploaded to the channel, even if you can rewind the current live stream, even if there are no ads, it's just not good for streaming

Twitch kinda sucks. No pause, no rewind. On KZfaq you can start from the beginning of a stream while the stream is live. KZfaq chat kinda sucks without a bunch of addons though.

Also the viewership would be lower no matter the platform, the amongus 2020 era was truly iconic for everyone had time to watch streams unlike now when people have lives to live. I got a new smart TV about a year ago, and I only recently realized that I never bothered to install twitch, because twitch is such a trash experience on a smart TV. KZfaq streaming definitely isn't perfect as a platform, but at least the software is good

@gina-hp2jo I think there are a lot of youtubers that come and go, but we also see a lot of youtubers that stay on the up. I feel like it's sort of even on both fronts. I also hear of a lot of streamers that fell off or fell into controversy, I personally just think it's easier to get your quick buck off of youtube then it does streaming, so I see lots of channels kind of die down.

Gonna be direct here, I personally don't enjoy watching livestreams anymore for the day-to-day stream. I enjoy watching the refined videos made from those livestreams. However, your event livestreams are things I plan for. I plan to watch your events live because I think they're dope. I'll tune in to watch the event livestreams, and I'm sure there are plenty of people like me who will do so. I support what you're doing Lud, keep up the great work.

@@connorskudlarek8598 everyone has a shelf life when it comes to mortality itself. agreed. and in enrtertainment in terms of relevancy then it is even shorter (i.e. "5 minutes of fame"). however there are many exceptions. if you consider talk show host such as jay leno, conan o brien; or even game show hosts like alex trebek; or even hollywood celebrities such as robert de niro; or music artists such as tupac shakur. whos relevancy extends well beyond their retirement and death itself. legends if you must. ludwig is more than a streamer/entertainer. he is an event organizer. his events generates a lot of attention and react content from streamers and tierz lists content as well. it generatez content. he is an org owner. he is an investor (esports). and he has (good) clout. and he (and many like him) are doing all of this in the brand new industries of livestreaming entertainment/gaming and esports. trailblazers. and if it be that he loses relevancy in 1 field then he have many others holdin up his fame. in conclusion, i truly do not believe ludwigs relevancy will be threatened any time soon due to his solid grounding in the industry, his clout, and his ability to stay on top of trends. also i agree witg @jordentually 's sentiment: "...[he'll]...adapt [and] we [will] all get older together and will continue to watch :)"

As a YT frog I'm glad your bread and butter streams will still be on youtube. The experience between YT and Twitch's player and ads is night and day, especially on mobile and I know I just wouldn't find myself tuning in as much as I did if you were back on twitch. Otherwise, glad to see you making the decisions that enable you to do what you're most passionate about.

Great news. Playing on both teams is the way. That's the wave. Was expecting the announcement btw. Ludwig kinda hinted it during the last Lethal Company game he played offstream some hours back with Tarik, Ryan, Rae etc. and kinda teased it at the end. I’ll be honest…..it’s a little disappointing. KZfaq is BY FAR better for the viewers. The main reasons being: first, you can rewind the stream while it’s still live (my favorite part), and two, KZfaq doesn’t flood viewers with 12 ads while you’re watching. I don’t understand why twitch feels the need to literally run 8-12 ads all at once, right in the middle of a stream….thats highly unreasonable. Especially since they take 50% of the streamers money! Before everyone says, “why don’t you just subscribe/join, then you won’t get ads.” Fair, but I can’t do that to the literally 15-20 streamers I follow. That’s just not financially feasible. It does seem that twitch is better from the streamers POV. At least that’s the sense I get from streamers talking about it. Which seems obvious, as streaming is the only thing twitch does. I was expecting this to be what he decided to do. I didn’t expect him to talk KZfaq into (kinda) agreeing to it. I just thought he’d not sign a contract at all.

I recently saw a bubble chart of different sectors of what Mythical owns/operates and it makes me so curious to see what yours looks like, especially because I didn't even know about truffle. Man. I havent watched a SINGLE live stream since you left Twitch lol. I still watch your big content and all the MMail. But yeah.. I'm not about to try to navigate KZfaq Live it's a huge pain in the A** to find creators that are live. I'm on twitch 24/7. It'll be good to see you live again, dude.

honestly i think your average viewership has lowered because a lot of people have less time. with the pandemic not being in constant lockdown, people have returned to work, back to life and frankly a lot of people had kids over covid and just don't have time to watch streams anymore. that being said, i think youve done great on youtube and if you do return to twitch, i think you will be just fine.

Thank you for not going twitch exclusively. I try to watch your streams even tho it usually starts at 1 am here. It's way easier for me to watch on KZfaq than Twitch on my mobile while doing something else.

as someone who also streams here i still believe youtube is the better option for smaller creators. my twitch was dying and nothing i was doing was changing that. KZfaq the other hand i feel like i have control of my success. A great example of youtube thriving is the last fortnite event, fortnite had more live viewers on youtube than twitch and streamers, streaming to both sites were pulling more views on youtube. lasarbeam held 1 million live concurrent views at one point

this is great for me because i don't really watch that often on twitch. I'm just usually doing something with a youtube video on in the backround and dont really watch streams that often. but ill usually tune in for a little while when i get the notification on youtube.

He batted us thinking he was going back to twitch. Though he went back to twitch. I’m glad he’s still on KZfaq. He did all work to make sure his KZfaq stream and his KZfaq friends with that truffle extension have a great experience streaming. Glad he still on it. He and every KZfaq streamer needs to make live streaming better for them and their community. All of their concern they have to make it better, needs to happen or slowly happen.
