I'm a First Nations Australian trying to reconnect to country right now from the horrible past of stolen generation. My Mum started the journey to reconnect as she was the one stolen but died of cancer before she had a chance to complete it. I picked it up from her to hopefully fill a whole in my life and meet my family. When I saw your First Nations jokes I laughed. Even with My personal history I saw the joke and it was funny. One of the great outcomes of this amazing social experiment we call Australia is that people from different backgrounds can come together and work together. It is disappointing to see when people attack because there feelings are hurt and I think many people need to stop and look inward and work out why. We all started somewhere else and the differences are what make us great. I think there are some people who would prefer we all be the same and think the same. Yet we are the racist.

My best mates dad is Aboriginal, and he left when my mate was young due to having issues with alcohol and not wanting his kids to be subject to that. Recently my mate was seeing his dad for the first time in many years, and was feeling anxious about it. As we were discussing it and the kind of person his dad is, I tried supporting my mate by saying “look, I don’t know your dad…and apparently neither do you”. This was quite clearly a joke and my mate was no longer upset, I knew that because he spent the next ten minutes pissing himself laughing. He knew I had no malice behind it and was simply trying to lighten the mood. More people need to be like my mate and get over it! At the end of the day, our generation didn’t cause the atrocities so we shouldn’t be made to feel guilty for it. It’s a part of history, let’s move forward together and make sure it’s not repeated.

Disgusting that we are all being expected to feel guilty for the stolen generation when we weren’t even born at the time. It’s not our fault do gooders took the half caste children away. But here we are today being blamed for leaving aboriginal children in alcoholic abusive families to be bashed and raped to wonder the streets at all hours. You can’t win with some people. And it’s interesting that nobody ever mentions or harps on about the white British children who were sent to Australia during the war supposedly to keep them safe. Those kids were put into Australia orphanages where they were abused and raped and worse. Told their parents were dead and never sent back home. It wasn’t a race thing in those days. It was how children got treated world wide in a society that believed children should be seen and not heard. Where children were forced to work for adults because children weren’t valued.

People with "special needs" often have the most wicked sense of humour. Many years ago I went to a comedy club to see some stand up with some disabled friends of mine and along with them came lots of their friends, most of whom had Cerebral Palsy. At one point as we were getting comfortable at the tables before the show, one of them said to the most severely affected by Cerebral Palsy... *_"Hey_* *_Jeremy!_* *_You_* *_could_* *_get_* *_para_* *_and_* *_nobody_* *_would_* *_know!",_* arms at the table were then swinging uncontrollably as they all p'ed themselves laughing in the Steady Eddy voice and drooling kicked into overdrive. Another time we went out to see a movie and the driver asked me if I could drool or limp or put on a silly voice, since we were about to park in a disabled spot. Driver said I needed to look the part. LOL

Thanks so much for explaining a basic feature about comedy that far too many fragile people forget today. A comedy act is just that: an act. It doesn't reveal something about the comedian's likes, preferences, personality, character, etc. Comedians create personas that they use on stage to entertain people. This "outrage" is a bit like getting mad at a character in a stage play because you don't like their attitude.

@@bioxideeric Don’t try to apply constitutional law to present day. It’s a cluster fuck and leads to morons like sovereign citizens suing the government because they want to pay for everything in gold bullion. Governments can set up legal body’s like royal commissions or in this case tribunals to tackle specific issues that can’t be effectively handled by regular courts. Don’t get me wrong, the human rights commission is massive waste of taxpayer dollars designed to give insane activists a chance to rip off the government and indulge in a power trip with the benchmark for investigations being “offence” instead of “harm”, making the process entirely arbitrary. But it is legal, though open to litigation if someone has the money and balls to take it down.
@endotherm
@endotherm Жыл бұрын
@@bioxideeric Tribunals essentially exist to keep frivolous bullshit from tying up the courts. Tribunals typically try to reach a compromise or agreement between parties so it doesn't go any further. They may in some cases be able to issue "orders" or fines, but they have no power to enforce it. The aggrieved party still has to pursue it through the courts if they can be bothered to have the order enforced with an actual Court Order. You can usually safely ignore the tribunals involvement and only have to worry about it if it goes to court.

The problem is people choose to be offended. They could just ignore it. But they like to live miserable lives being upset at everything.

@@taxevasiongaming you are absolutely correct. By stoic standards, expecting others to change in order to make your life easier or more pleasant rather than changing yourself is considered a form of degeneracy. But that behaviour is commonplace now. It’s almost acceptable to simply cry about it rather than grind about it.

Many people believe that being offended is of the highest order of importance in the world. They will see people die, children assaulted, and cultures oppressed to appease their feelings of offence.

@@kratosboy5557 Second amendment is the right to bear arms. You're thinking about the first. Which considering how many infringements on our 2nd amendment, it's no surprise we've got some busting on our first, especially if it's something seen as negative to the radical left in our good ol US of A.
