In the 70's (1970's that is) you didn't have the luxury of listening to whatever song you wanted when you wanted it. Spotify, iTunes, Amazon were not even dreams in those days, you couldn't even imagine it. I used to go to a pub in town set up my cassette player in a bag next to the jukebox and record my favourite songs - didn't work, very poor sound - what a surprise :)
My mum got me Let it Bleed for Christmas - 'Is this the right one dear?' , 'Yea thanks mum xx' Then I met someone and this song takes me back to those times - a bedsit - one room with a 2 bar stove, a sink, a borrowed settee and a double bed with a shared loo upstairs. This was the norm for us and we were happy - we had our own pad. We saved up for the next LP - Bowie, McCartney, Elton?
