I am leaving Slimming world after 6 years!
I did weigh 26.7 stone then l weighed 14 stone and 1 1 lbs, l am now i'm back on my journey back to 14 stone. I lost over 11.5 stone with some help from Slimming World, this channel is here to help every man and woman who want to lose weight and eat great food.

I love slimming world, only thing that's ever worked for me and I can't calorie count as I am autistic. I do feel you have to do what's best for you so congratulations, the only thing I will say is I find when people leave the comments then love to bash slimming world and that makes me feel quite sad. If it's supposed to be a warm community where everybody is allowed to follow what ever plan is best for them then slimming world should fit into the realm too and we should be kind to everybody.

Yes think your body gets used to certain ways of eating (diet plan) and it needs to try a different way I’m sure calorie counting is the answer after all you can eat anything you fancy as long as you count it ,no syns or cheat foods as long as you don’t consume more calories in than you need you will lose weight and that’s a fact 🤷‍♀️

Thank you Patrick to be honest it's been great following you and I still will be. You have only mirrored what I've been thinking as well. I like you lost a huge amount of weight with slimming world, but have felt after the pandemic lock downs, that it hasnt been for me. So I may be joining you, as you said you get a huge sense of community. So I wish you luck and will be following your progress avidly 👍.

I did the exact same thing Patrick, I’m using nutracheck and I love that I can eat the “forbidden“ treats now and just adjust my day. Well done on your progress so far, you’re doing great x

Watched you when I went to slimming world. Totally lost weight , put it on after I got Covid. List weight again and keeping it off with just watching my calories. Love you channel you have been so inspiring ❤

Hi Patrick. I so agree with you about calorie counting. I’m finding it really effective and enjoyable. I subscribed at the “mince pie feeling” comment. Made me laugh. Also the two years for your brain to catch up. I don’t use an ap. I write a notebook, use smaller slices of bread, eat and repeat, make it simple but when I’m hungry I eat something. Slimming world is a bit bonkers really. Thank you for your video. Jan

I have also been doing SW on and off for 6yrs and like yourself I did well, but I am not enjoying it like I used to and decided when I got home from holiday yest that I was going to give My Fitness Pal a go, but even if I had still gone back to SW, I would still have followed you as your channel was one of the first to inspire me and I enjoy your chit chat. Hello Patrick. What an amazing achievement losing all that weight. I have just found your channel and need to lost three stone and wasn't sure whether to join slimming world or count calories. At the end of the day, all diets and plans are based on consuming fewer calories than you need so that you’re in a calorie deficit. How you choose to do that depends on which plan works best for you and fits in with your lifestyle. Of course I will continue to watch your channel because I find it interesting and your content is very entertaining. I am particularly interested in the psychological aspects of weight loss so would be interested to see more of this. All the very best with your continued weight loss journey! Love from Munich xx

I really feel I needed to watch this. I haven’t done slimming world for a while. I watch you because you are so likeable and honest. I think I would watch whatever you decided to do videos about weight related or not 😄. I have tried over the years WW slimming world and exante and they all work if you give it focus but I find it so hard to be in the right mindset. Life has been hard and food is my comfort. I gym every day at work spinning body pump ect but I still carry around so much extra weight. I want to loose it and be a healthier version on me for my kids. I have always been overwhelmed by calorie counting but I feel knowing you are doing it and being able to check back in and absorb your motivation.. maybe I can do this. Good luck on your journey and thank you for inspiring us all 👍

Hey Patrick! Haven't attended a SW class since mid 2019 (a few events happened on a personal front) and then I sort of fell out of love with it as well. Have just been doing my own thing loosely incorporating SW ever since. Love your personality and your content anyway so still here, whenever I'm on YT. I still follow a few of the OGs of SW I just cant hang around YT as I used to. But no, you and the OGs won't get rid of me that easily!

Hello Patrick, I have did the same, and have come away from SW for calorie counting on my fitness Pal. It's felt quite liberating, and definitely helps me to have real treats in moderation, rather than fake treats that don't quite hit the spot lol. Rest assured, I won't be going anywhere 😁. I found your channel because of Slimming World, but I've stuck with you because you're a lovely guy, and your honesty is refreshing. Well done on the weight loss - let's do this together! Xx

I joined Sw about 6 weeks ago but use My Fitness Pal and am calorie counting. I am losing between 1 and 2 pounds a week - I find the SW mantra difficult to fit into my lifestyle and hate the idea of food being synned. But the discipline of weigh in keeps me focussed. I find my consultant always speaks to the same people - it’s not the inclusive experience I was expecting. Very pleased to have found your channel.😀😀

I have done slimming world a lot and yes it worked the first time, I lost 2 stone, went to uni put it straight back on plus more and have been battling ever since to get it back off again. Its taken me 4 years 3 reattempts at slimming world before I realised it was having a detrimental affect on my mental health so have also started calorie counting with deficit. It's working so much better for me although it's slow process it is working.

This is interesting. I’m going to follow you for inspiration. I’ve done both SW and CC and agree with all you say. Recently have stopped CC as it can get a bit much to keep logging. But my weight isn’t what I’d like so need a push to get back on it! I try and exercise quite a bit so hope that will help with giving me extra calories 😂

Hi, good luck with your calorie counting. I have been a slimming world member on and off for about thirty years. Always loved that you could eat so much food. But I too after all this time have jumped ship to WW. At the moment I’m enjoying it, it really is easy. There is so much food you can eat with your points plus you can gain points in the day and save points in the week. It has improved greatly over the years as I have looked at it before and not bothered with it. So good luck and I will be watching. X

Just found your channel and have to say, I agree with everything you say about calorie counting. I use MyFitnessPal to log mine too. Like you, I really like that I can include treats that would send me way over my syn allowance. There's so much more flexibility and variety with calorie counting, and it encourages me to exercise more too.

I’m watching you no matter what!!! I’m a big fan from Florida, USA so keep posting. In my opinion, you are logging sensible meals in calories and what works for you is what matters. For me, I realized uh oh, it isn’t calories, it’s portion size. Don’t eat the big steak. Keep it trimmed, eat 1/2 and increase the veg, keep the free food in a sensible and safe or toon size and push back from the table. That’s all you can do. Weigh in is on Tuesday. I have 8.8 lbs of water weight off. Yay to week 1!!!!

Hello Patrick, I think this is the real truth. I myself did slimming world but it became an unhealthy (mentally) obsession. I lost 4 stone but stopped going for dinner with friends to restaurant's etc. I am going to try one of the apps for calorie counting. One of my colleagues has had a lot of success with one of those. Good to see you back and looking and sounding so well XX

Hi Patrick - welcome to the CC/SW club. A lot of us do it as no CC clubs & I wonder why? I follow the fast 800 plan/med diet & love it. The doc says everyone needs accountability & support so that's where sw come in for me. I dont touch the zero fat or high processed low fat stuff but do eat plenty of the decent free foods of veg & lean meats. I've started counting my protein & a bit shocked as to how low my protein count actually was. Now I'm focused on hitting my protein targets I'm natually eating less carbs it's so weird. I'm coming to the end of my sw referral & will join again in the spring on a 6 wk CD. I'm just going to set 1stone targets in future as its doable. At least I will get to go free for a bit - sw owe me that for the crazy food I ate on that plan. I love the group support & my group no one bothers with syns it can be so funny when they explain a good loss - they just do their best to eat well. I think sw is a great starting point but every one with a weight problem needs to know the amount of cals to consume for type of foods they like to eat eventually. I think with sw they do encourage too much food consumption it's very over facing to me the portion sizes are huge & the amount of times sw vloggers are reaching for food when trying to lose weight its laughable. I dont think some know what an empty stomach or being hungry is. Looking fwd to your content as another cal counter🤗👏🏽🙌🏾👍🏾

I'm not surprised really because you've been mentioning calorie counting quite often in your recent content. I've done SW for 5 years and was 5 stone lighter in 2019 (currently 2 stone lighter). I've never lost weight any other way but with SW, and I didn't fancy calorie counting but with the apps now, it seems to be more simplified. I won't be going anywhere and I'm a little curious about calorie counting and will be interested in picking up any tips and information on calorie counting versus SW.

I also did a slimming world MFP combo in 2017/18 lost 7st in all. A lot more freedom on MFP. All the best 😊

So thank you for being so honest about what you are going to do. I’ve got a couple of questions that I hope you can answer. If you’re still going to Slimming World so that you can get weighed every week and still be accountable, have you told the consultant what you’re doing. And are they okay with it? . Also, because your calorie counting and not food optimising the Slimming World way, if you win slimmer of the week and slimmer of the month, Will you still accept these awards? Only asking because I’m really curious about this. But I know you’re going to be successful in your weight loss journey however you choose to do it and in whatever way. I will still subscribe to your channel and continue to watch you.

Thanks for the comment, not anymore. I did go and weigh in. I saw it more as a weight loss group and went for the social side. I did receive a couple of rewards and I did accept them as I paid the money and no matter how I lost it I still lost it. I don't go any more and there is a story behind that but I will go into that in a video at some point

Hi Patrick, I think that you have just got to do what's best for you lovely. Trying to lose weight is not easy so if counting calories works for you that's fine, but for me Slimming World (where I have lost 5.5stone) it is the only way for me. The reason for this is I have not got any self-control so if I brought those mini mince pies, I would not be able to stop at one it would be a trigger for me. I will still be watching you Patrick and as we all want to achieve the same thing it doesn't matter what plan we follow to get there. Take care lovely xx

I agree I did slimming world it does world. It isn't a long term thing. Yes stickers etc but the diet is so hard.

I did the same and I couldn't believe how many calories nutra check gave me,Im not on anything at the moment as a resent op messed up my stomach but when I feel better I'm going back on nutra check, go for it don't feel guilty ☺

Absolutely, unless I have a lot of calories left over. But mostly I eat the same things but sometimes smaller

Hi Patrick me again - does ur consultant know u count cals? I've not told mine but I always speak in terms of cals fruit & veg fibre etc. I call food what it is. I've done a couple of food diaries where consultant noted I didn't have much protein as I dont eat eggs or much dairy. Never done a food diary but do find it useful every so often as it's a bit different to tracking cals. I've increased my lean meats & try to have a few more full fat milk & yogurt each week plus I love finding foods that i like & also high in protein. Subway low fat sarnies are a keeper. In the new year when I restart I might say from the start as think its good for SW to know as the plan is very dated after 50yrs like my good self😆🤣😂

I've cut out potatoes I only eat light bread because I have IBS and they bloat my stomach I feel so much better for it plus I have lost over 1 stone another bonus ❤

I never returned to SW after the pandemic and lockdowns for a few reasons. One big one being the way SW handled the pandemic. First of all, I do not begrudge the consultants for needing to continue to earn income. I know the way they earned income was primarily through subs and merch and without havin meetings they didn't have a way to sell the books/bars. BUT. I was mid countdown when the lockdown happened and instead of freezing countdowns, we were left scrambling to try to meet via zoom (and I don't even own scales at home!) I didn't feel the zoom meetings were helpful, especially considering the cost. When we were able to have in person meetings again, I bought a new countdown only for us to go into lockdown again. And once again....no freezing of the countdown. Then when we were able to return, I didn't feel encouraged or supported by our consultant to come back. I also am not pleased with the price hike immediately after the pandemic.

Me and my hubby lost 2stone in lockdown via SW zoom, as soon as we got back into group some thing strange happened,the scales said we had both put a stone on from our previous weight before lock down ??I was shocked to say the least and made to feel like I was a liar, something wasn't right ..I started nutra check ☺

I completely understand, I didn't take part in SW during lockdowns but that is terrible. It's so bad they don't pause membership. Also zoom wouldn't work for me either

I swore I’d never go back to slimming world at the start of this year when I listened to my group leader tell a lady who’s lost weight that drinking water wouldn’t help her weight loss but would give her good skin! 😡😡 she’d lost 3 lbs and was so happy and was so proud she’d drank all week!! The advice they give is beyond dangerous and has created so many disordered eating patterns with words like syns etc! Any slightly educated person knows most overweight people don’t drink enough mist don’t know the difference between thirst and hunger! I swore I will never set foot in a meeting again! This was at a long list of dangerous advice I heard given

Why do you need 2.5 litres of water a day ?? I did slimming world 3 year ago I lost 5 stone and I’ve never put any weight back on .i know water is good for you but doesn’t do a thing for weight loss.i never drank any because I don’t like water

Amazing, well done. Great weight loss. It's not only me saying that, it's a recommendation from many professionals. It helps the body in lost of ways and for weight loss helps you feel fuller longer. I'm sure you have had water in forms of tea, squash etc... You'd die without it haha. Well done again, congratulations
