I have a 2009 Martin OMCE Claro walnut (sitka top); it is my desert island guitar!

The sitar sound after changing the string diameter is more likely caused by the nut slots being too wide. Super glue and baking soda in the slot and then cut the proper size slot to the proper height and I have never seen that problem not get resolved. Now if it were doing that with the heavier gauge string then it is likely the neck but I would actually check the break angle ofbthe string at the saddle first because to little and there is an issue. Did I hear Nathan say he has a '67? My other woman as my wife calls her is a '67 D35.

My D35 has a reset. Can't tell. Incredible when a good Luthier does the work.

I remember learning to do my first acoustic neck reset, it scared the living sh*t out of me. It was a Gibson Hummingbird with a really tight dovetail neck joint. Rocking it to get the glue to let go after steaming it… I never actually handled nitroglycerin, but I imagine if I did, I wouldn't be so that more nervous than I was with the guitar neck. I like how they look without the frets past the 16th. I've seen that once before, i think it was a Santa Cruz.
