One thing I like is that this is the first time since the original that the two killers have a very distinct style. Amber does frenetic repeated stabs while Richie's stabs are precise & efficient.

Someone mentioned Matthew Lillard has a voice cameo at the party. You can clearly hear it's him. Jamie Kennedy (Randy) also does a voice cameo at the party. And Drey Barrymore is the voice of the principal doing the announcement in the beginning. And of course, the thing that made the fans happy was the video thumbnail in the DeadMeat scene confirming Kirby is alive.

It's confirmed Amber did most of the kills and attacks. I just love her😂

I say this is the most epic since the first one! Using the pass the torch formula. Having a new generation of characters. Bringing new life into the Scream franchise. I was crushed when Dewey died! Although it follows the events of Scream 4, it feels like a direct sequel tying the first with the latest. By the way, it is overall Scream 5 but because it's the first entry in the franchise since 2011, they simply title it as Scream (2022).

I watched this when this came out the first day in theaters and Dewey’s passing had me crying in the theaters. I’ve been up all night so far watching along side of you. Watched scream, Scream 2, scream 3, scream 4, scream 5, scream 6 and Texas chainsaw massacre the beginning with you. You are absolutely incredible at what you do and I’m so happy to say that I finally found my favorite KZfaqr and that my GUY is you.❤️❤️❤️you have became one of my favorite reactors of all time and I’ve seen a lot on “KZfaq” and you my dude has to be the best I have ever seen in my whole entire life. Now that you’ve seen this movie, I can further explain why I hope they don’t put Sidney through much more. I wanted to put this in with my last comment on your reaction to the third movie but it would’ve been major spoilers lmaooo. Sidney’s now lost one of the two people who’ve been with her since the trauma started. Like I said, she either loses them to the killer or they turn out to be the killer. Her having to lose Dewey in this one is even more heartbreaking when you realize that they never got the chance to have an interaction before he went, other than the phone call in the beginning. What makes things even more risky for her now is that she has two daughters and she’s married to Mike (who I’m assuming is the same man from the third film). She’s not in the sixth film apparently because of conflicts between Neve Campbell and the studio, but fans are demanding for her to return for a seventh film and even have theories that she still might actually be in the sixth somehow. It just sucks that she can’t live a normal life and care for her family without the fear of losing that too. However, one thing I do think would be cool (and I wouldn’t be shocked if it happens) is if they make a sequel about Sidney’s daughters. Obviously that wouldn’t be for another 17 years or so but if there’s a super long break between these recent films and that time, then starting in a new generation with the protagonists being the direct descendants of Sidney would be a nice start to another new set of Scream films. I’m so glad you’ve loved each of them! Scream (1996) was the very first horror film I watched when I was a kid and I recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen horror films or is too scared to watch them because Scream is honestly the best introduction to horror. Super excited for Scream VI to release this week! It looks absolutely amazing and I hope it goes great 😌 Also sorry my comments are so lengthy, I can’t simplify anything to save my life and I get overzealous when I talk abt my interests ☠️

I'm so glad you enjoyed this. What a wild ride. I was really impressed with how well part 5 fits into the franchise. The characters and Woodsboro settings all felt very familiar. The whole thing felt like such a love letter to Wes Craven and the franchise as a whole. I loved it. I was sad Dewey and Gale weren't together and he'd been through such a rough time but there was something so wholesome about seeing his face light up when he watched her on TV in his trailer and knowing he probably did so every day. It was touching also to see he kept his sister's ashes on his mantle. Such a good reminder of what he's been through over the last 25+ years. He'll be missed in part 6. I thought they did a great job with the Stab IMDB listing that Tara pulls up in the opening scene. A fun reminder that Tori Spelling and Luke Wilson were in the original; and Jennifer Jolie (RIP) played Gale Weathers. I liked that the only not famous name on the list was Randy's actor, which he commented on in Scream 2. Another fun detail - Dewey tells Sid in the original that he sees her as a young Meg Ryan in a movie version; so its a neat casting choice that her son Jack Quaid was in this one. Also - I didn't notice until doing this re-watch with you; but in the original Billy compares Sidney to Jodie Foster in Silence of the Lambs, having flashbacks of her dead father; which is literally what ends up happening with Sam in this one. Such a cool touch. Radio Silence did a pretty fantastic job with part 5. They had big shoes to fill. I see other comments have pointed out the Kirby Reed Easter egg. Yay... she was my favourite character in part 4 and I'm so glad we'll be seeing her again in part 6. We now have six returning survivors and I like all of them so I'm nervous and not feeling too optimistic they'll all make it through. yikes. I"m looking forward to seeing part 6 and what happens next! I'm hoping to see it Saturday or Sunday so I'll check out your review after. Fingers crossed that our Gale makes it through OK. Thanks again for bringing us along on this journey with you.

I too had to really hold back tears in the theater when Dewey died. There were rumors of one of the legacy characters dying and that it was most likely him, but it didn’t make it any easier. They said this was the beginning of a new trilogy and I just heard that Scream 7 has already been green lit and will film later this year so I guess it’s true.

i was on a first date to see this movie in theaters and when they killed dewy i had to keep it chill but the way they did it as well, him going back alone and also not doing the head shot to begin with, i was shaking in my seat

My pros are definitely the opening with it being the only opening having someone survive it 3rd best opening imo, the legacy characters were great as per usual, I didn’t hate that they killed Dewey cause he nearly dies in every movie so it was his time but I did cry my heart out, I love Jenna Ortega, the hospital sequence is one of my favorites of the franchise, ghostface is great, the deaths of the killers are the best when it comes to the defeats of the killers, I do like the motive since it’s very relevant today even tho the execution could’ve been better, good kills not amazing as the early reviews were making them out to be, good ghostface phone calls, and lastly just seeing Sidney Prescott again being the queen that she is was amazing.

I saw 4 and this one in the theater and I hated when Dewey was killed. Multiple actors from the scream franchise made voice cameos in this one also I forgot to point out in scream 2 Matthew Lillard (stu)made a cameo in the background during the Sorority party. I made a comment before saying the boyfriend would be at the bottom of the list as a killer because it's bad writing to repeat a killer in the scream universe and those are the rules of a mystery thriller. Richie would then be easier to blend in the background because there is no way they would repeat a killer.....unless you are making a requel which reboots the franchise and then old rules don't apply. The scream 5 trailer theme says it all goes back to the original, original cast,original house and original suspect which is the boyfriend. Dewey also told you who the killer was during the first meeting, they always tell you in each movie. By the way Amber did most of the killing.

I love you liked Tara and Sam and the new characters because in the sixth movie they are the soul of the movie, Sam is THE final girl, she killed in the movie.

This one was pretty polarizing amongst fans but I'm in the loved it camp! I was so excited for another Scream movie last year. There were a lot of voice cameos in this one - I noticed someone pointed out that Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy had them at the party (I believe Jamie is the one that calls Richie somebody's dad lol) but the actress that played Kirby is also one of the voices at the party and Drew Barrymore is the principal talking over the intercom when we first see the high school! I couldn't mention it before since you hadn't gotten to this one yet and had no idea bout Sam but my theory is that Sam's mom, Christina, is one of the girls we see walking passed Sidney and Billy at the school when they run into each other for the first time after he's been released from jail. While they're talking a girl runs by shouting "Hey Christy, wait up!" So I think Billy was talking to her before she walks away and then Sidney bumps into him seconds later. (Also, me when you asked if Billy was her dad: "Yup. He was totally cheating on Sidney while going on his murder spree.") I was so worried for you to get to this one because you love Dewey so much. (Also, the amount of times I said to characters "Excuse you, we respect Dewey Riley in this house." for this movie. First Richie disrespecting him in the trailer, then Wes in that group meeting, and then Amber. Ugh. Respect him! I also have zero shame that I manage, every single time from the first time I saw it in theaters, to say "Fuck you" at the same time as Gale when Amber tries to BS apologize her way out of getting shot. Glad you burned then got shot, Amber.) Cry all you want, I know I did! I just need Sidney to be living her best life with Mark and their daughters. She is not allowed to be killed off offscreen in the new one and Gale better live.

It's weird that Tara is still alive at the end of the next movie. It's like the equivalent of Drew Barrymore being there walking with Sidney at the end of scream 2, or Jada Pickett Smith being there when Roman died. Or Cotton Weary being at the hospital when Jill died.
