Kenny the Cameraman doesn’t get enough credit. He was prepared to run into the house and save Randy/try stop the killer, in his last moments he mutters “the door” telling her to close the door and points towards the little crawl space in the van, he was also smart enough to look back at the camera footage and acknowledge the 30 sec delay so he knew the killers next move before running in not knowing the details

What i think is so sad is that when Casey is near her parents and she try's to say mom she can barely whisper it as her throat was damaged when Billy strangled her. And yes it was Billy doing the strangling as throughout the movie both killers have different styles Billy strangles and Stu raises his knife over his head, it's something Wes Craven did on purpose to differentiate each killer. When Billy at the end try's strangling Sydney that's to let you know that's his style. It's really fun rewatching them and figuring out who's under the mask at any point.

Sidney was calling his bluff because it was more likely that the person was calling from a landline as cell phones were rare.

So fun fact: Rose McGowan is so tiny that she kept going right through the cat door on the garage and they had to staple her shirt to the door so she would stop falling through. It was Drew Barrymore’s idea to die at the very beginning. She thought it was a cool idea that had never been done before. All of the marketing made it look like she was going to be the star throughout the movie. It was selfless of her to do as an actress and a game changer in film! Once you take out the expected lead of the film at the very beginning, everything is on the table, and no one is safe!

I believe the fact that Drew dies at the beginning was intentionally done to be shocking. She was on all the advertising for it making it seem like she was the main character. A bit like Janet Leigh in Psycho.

After it wrapped, the cast/crew jokingly called it "The longest night in horror history." and had "I SURVIVED SCENE 118" (which was the name of the scene during shooting) t-shirts made. Bait And Switch Fact: Drew Barrymore was originally cast as Sidney Prescott (eventually played by Neve Campbell). But Drew insisted that if she played Casey, a victim in just the opening scene alone, then it would make the audience think anything could happen. Barrymore being given top billing and appearing on the poster was meant to mislead the audience. Thus one of the most hated horror tropes was created.

Scream is one of my favorite movies of all time! I can't believe you never seen any of the Scream franchise until now! You should definitely do the same for the Indiana Jones franchise especially when Dial of Destiny is coming on the way.

I think it's so fun to see everyone saying they should stop picking up the phone, as if that would save them! XD If anything, that would make them die even faster!

it's never too late for a good movie! trust me, the second one is even better. it's a shame that nev campbell and skeet ulrich didn't become stars, but at least this movie secured them a place in movie history forever!

Also the more you watch this the more little things you notice. For instance I think Ghostface was hiding in Sidney’s closet half the day because when she walks past it earlier after watching the news you hear the floor creak by the closet and she notices it but doesn’t investigate.

The reason why Randy's scene was meta is because when he saying "Turn around Jamie, you know he's around", well it's meta because the actor's name is Jamie Kennedy ahaha it's funny. Matthew Lillard was actually hit with the phone that Skeet had thrown at him (his reaction "You hit me with a phone, dick" was genuine and unscripted, it was kept in the movie because it fitted with the rest)

One can presume that Sidney and Casey while weren't close like Sydney and Tatum, probably were friends since Billy and Stu were as close as they were while dating the two of them(it was mentioned after all that Stu dated Casey until, according to Randy, Casey dumped him for Steve or, according to Tatum, he dumped her for Tatum. Truthfully what Randy said is more than most likely true.

I have Scream 1-5 on an I listened to the audio commentaries. Have no interest in Scream 6 in any way shape or form because its a sequel to a movie that started in the 1990s. Its 2023 I want all new movies with new an original ideas. Not a sequel or a reboot or remake to a movie or a continuation of a movie franchise that started. In the 1990s or before that its not to much to ask from mainstream writers and directors. Now with that out of the way I don't understand why people think that Wes Craven wrote any of the Scream movies. Hes clearly only listed as the director of the movies. Here is the actual writers of the Scream movies in Kevin Williamson wrote Scream 1,2 an 4. Ehren Kuger wrote Scream 3 So those are the actual writers of those movies its in the credits. Now in the audio commentary for this movie its writer Kevin Williamson said the. Original movies name was Scary Movie but it eventually got changed to Scream. Then Wes Craven was not the movie studios first choice to direct the movie. But all of the other movie directors turned it down because they didn't take it as a serious horror movie. Even the movie studio asked Kevin Williamson if it was a serious horror movie. But eventually it got to Wes Craven an he agreed to direct it an as they say the west is history. Now only two people wear the killers custom in this movie. The main person was a stuntman it only made sense to Wes Craven. Considering all the abuse the killer was going to take an this continued in all the movies 1 -4. Then at the end Neve Campbell who played Sydney wear it when she came out of the closet. No one else in this movie wear it other then them.
