I painted my first mini yesterday. Went to my local game shop to grab some cheap minis to practice before my combat patrol gets here. One of the workers hooked me up with a free space marine he already primed. I used classic blue and gold scheme. Tried recess shading and edge highlighting. Waaaay harder than I expected but so much fun. Turned out a lot better than expected. Thanks for all the helpful videos Uncle Adam and happy belated. I finally found my hobby. Cheers

From my understanding of the content from reviewers, I'm part of the target audience for the Fire and Jade book: 1. I'm only interested in Spearhead, but not full AoS, 2. I want a physical book with all the rules, faction stats, etc. I need to play in one place (plus the card decks). All I need is the F&J book, the cards, and everything else I already have cause every game is model agnostic if you believe in yourself.

Thanks! My worry on Spearhead is I have seen many turn 1s with folks all the way across the board. Even Nurgle. I think Move Values are a bit too high for the size of board. In the EU not telling where it is printed I think is against the law.

Not doing any myself but picking up Mantics Ambush boxes

I genuinely love that Spearhead and Fire and Jade are a thing. As someone already heavily invested in 40k, I still loved the idea of trying 4th ed AoS last year heading into this year. I just didnt know if Id be able to between time investment and resources. Now that Spearhead was confirmed some months ago, I feel a lot better about 4th ed because at the very least I know I have spearhead and a rule book for it. I dont know if I will be dedicating any time to full armies during the edition but I know I can still obtain some level of satisfaction with the handful of Spearheads I decide to tryout for any potential armies in future editions. I already have my sights set on the exact factions I am interested in so I can begin to prepare for those ventures

I will pick up the Skaven spearhead box when the new sculpts box comes out. I’ll use them against my Perrys War of the Roses and the new Midgard rules from too fat lardies.

GW does not update the core rule document. There are updates in a separate core rule update document, and in the balance dataslate document. This is maddening. Why should you have to cross-reference so many documents for just the core rules?
