MJ is MJ and Ant is Ant, but I grew up in Chicago in the 90s watching Jordan...and he reminds me of Jordan too. Doesn't mean I think he's as good as Jordan or ever will be, but he definitely reminds me of him with his play style, athleticism and competitive drive / killer instinct

@@habong17359 Really? Imo, in terms of looks theyre very different but in terms of being raw and unpolished shooting forms thats where i see the similarity. Ant rn and young Mj imo both use their insane athleticism in their shooting forms. It doesnt look as smooth rn, compared to mike's shooting form in the 90s. I believe Ant will soon get this polished 💯

Lol... yeah, but one thing to remember... when MJ came on the scene, we never compared him to anyone. We knew immediately he was the best player we'd ever seen. The same with Magic, we never compared him to anyone either, we knew immediately there had never been another point guard like him. Simply by making the comparison, the esteemed Mr. Wilbon has conceded he's not a greater player than MJ., cause when a player is truly the Goat, everyone will automatically know it, like we did with MJ and Magic. The young man has tremendous athletic talent, but how different will this conversation be if he never wins a championship ?

I understand them hyping up Ant...but it's at a disservice to the other members of the team. In game 2, McDaniels and NAW (and even Reid) imposed their "ruthlessness" on the defensive side of the ball and KAT was throwing daggers all night (10-15; 3-5 from 3; 27 points)....the entire team is contributing.

I agree with that, cause that's how I viewed Jordan back in the days. He is very graceful, spectacular, artistic with the moves and very entertaining to a great satisfaction, even if they loose, I just loved to see Jordan moved, especially with those hang time layups. Always was looking forward to seeing those. In other words, Jordan was flashy and stylish when he played. The other guys them, like Lebron them is good too, but they don't have that flashy and stylish play, that looks like real art in motion. Jordan was a whole new higher level.

He is a better three point shooter than MJ and Kobe ever was. It was tougher to score back than it is now and you don't get as many plays for three but still better.
@purplemonkeydishwasher4241
@purplemonkeydishwasher4241 13 күн бұрын
That may be true to an extent, but not all that relevant considering three point shooting wasn't that big of factor in Jordan's era. It wasn't considered a significant part of the game, it was mostly seen as a gimmick. If he was playing today, he would practice the shot more, it would be a bigger staple in his game, and he would most certainly shoot a higher percentage.
@kennymiles1481
@kennymiles1481 12 күн бұрын
@@purplemonkeydishwasher4241 Those all assumptions.We have to go by what we saw then and how it would translate today. Its like assuming a lot of the players would develop skills to play 90s basketball. Shai and Demar Derozan don't shoot a lot of threes and honestly. MJ was never that great of a pure shooter either. If he played in today's game he might take 3-5 attempts three pointers but still won't be to the level Anthony edwards is. Players like Reggis Miller or Larry bird now would translate really well to today's game. They would be averaging like 7-10 three point shooting attempts a game and probably be shooting around 38%+.

Sorry he doesnt remind me of kobe at all. The thing about kobe in his younger days in the 90s, he used to copy everything bout mike including how he talked to the media. Even the small habits of facial reactions lol To be fair we'll never know if he was doing that mimicking voluntarily and consciously or if he was just naturally like that as well lol Ant's swagger is more natural imo. It doesnt copy anything bout Mike's confidence and demeanor back in the day but there is a similarity as to the youthful exuberance and confidence.
