There are no words to describe what we've been feeling. So I spent 72 hours studying language to make 8 new words to describe our weird experience.

Actually she's not an etymologist, because etymologists study the origin of words. She might be a lexicographer, which is defined as the author or editor of a dictionary. But since she hasn't put these words into a dictionary (which is different from a vocabulary! ☝️) yet, she can't be considered a lexicographer... So, she actually invented 9 words, including worldologist (a person who creates new words). Chapeau Joanna 🎩👏

Aritul It’s a bit funny, because she tried to make new words to represent specific ideas, but some of those words already have meaning. Walrusing has 2 meanings AFAIK, it can mean you hang out and snuggle with your friends or it has to do with a sex act. Gug is a word that has to do with mining ⛏. Corono was fun, but it makes me think of the coronoid process.

“Corono: A Quarantine Story” The days lingered on. I ate uncontrollably, sometimes through instinct, other times ahungate. What started out as online zumba classes, inspirational Pinterest awakening quotes, and vegan avocado toast turned into boxed wine, dark memes, bad tik tok dances, and grief bacon. Oh how I missed the laugher and joy of my friends. Now we talk aimlessly zathaing on zoom wondering what happened to Skype. I sit around walrusing, wondering if the day is Sunday or Wednesday. My thoughts filled with murrayness as the confusion builds into freakill. I climb out of the garbage pile that is my bed with leaning towers of Cheetos puffs and Ice cream, and realize what my life has become. I swallow my pride, get sense of my dignity, and stand proud to clean up my life. I go to grab my febreeze from the bathroom and see myself in the mirror. “Gug... corono!!!”

Fun fact is that "Walrusing" might be something like "Moreseando" entonces si aplica :v
@fdab4 жыл бұрын
No seria Morseando? 🤔
@MIHUKI54 жыл бұрын
Sería "morsear". La forma ing de un verbo con valor nominal se traduce al infinitivo. Ejemplo: "morsing is my everyday life" = "morsear es mi día a día".
@miguelguijarro82804 жыл бұрын
@@MIHUKI5 Claro, pero en cambio hablamos del gerundio del verbo sustantivado morsear that is morseando :v
@MIHUKI54 жыл бұрын
@@miguelguijarro8280 En inglés, gerundio no es lo mismo que en español. In English, a gerund's a verb acting as a noun, whereas when the verb's acting as a lexical verb, adverb or an adjective, it's called present participle. So, for instance, if you say "I've been morsing all week", as "morsing" there's working as a verb of a progressive tense, in that case it is translated as "morseando". And if you say, for example, "most of the time I'm a morsing man" (that is to say, a man that morses), it'd be translated as "que morsea" or even "morseador"("la mayor parte del tiempo soy un hombre morseador/que morsea"). In this case, it's a present participle. Lastly, if you say, for example, "today's a morsing day", it doesn't mean it's a day that morses, but it's a day FOR morsing (for that purpose), so there "morsing"'s a gerund, because "morsing day" can be paraphrased as "day for morsing", and there "morsing" has a nominal function. So, as I previously stated, when it's a noun, it's translated as "morsear", same as the example "morsing's my everyday life". En conclusión, se puede traducir de varias maneras, dependiendo del contexto. Y ni hablar si lo transformas en adverbio ("morsingly") 😂 Saludos
