Money is not everything, it can solve a lot of issues. But, a man is rich as much as he governs his time. You can be a millionaire, but the benefit of it is pretty small if you don't have free time to spend with your family and do things that you love. Totally agree with you and I totally understand Cody.

@UC4-XpXEVFUxZk9lVnz8KM_g Yeah doing whatever I want for as long as I want. I’d still rather be a therapist, make a decent amount throughout my life, and be enjoying what I’m doing. As Dave Ramsey says, money is not a bad thing. I think money can be used for good or bad things. It’s up to the person who spends it. If I have more money than I need, I want to use it to make experiences with people I care about like traveling, Top Golf, bowling, theme parks, football games. Then I build stronger relationships with people by paying for those experiences. Where you spend your money is a personal decision though. That’s just what I would do with extra money.

If you don’t invest anything then you’d be right. Lol are you new to Dave Ramsey? He tells people to invest 15% of their income, thats 33k a year(if they stay at 220k), 33k x 20 years is 660k with 8-12% rate of return thats 4.5-6.5 million over the 20 years. That’s not counting any additional savings they will have from the 220k income with no debt and no mortgage, maybe some rental properties.

Using Dave’s investment calculator...age = 27. Invest until 47. Both Max their 401(k)/403(b) = $39,000/year, or $3,250/mo. Assume 10% return. By age 47, they will have $2,467,948. At 67, even not counting catch up amounts in their accounts, they will have $20,553,257. Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world. It can work for you or against you.
