Kowloon being very cheap for a student but it was also unsafe, unsanitary and cramped, it's really unfortunate that many crimes happened there. I was reading about Kowloon and it looks like the walled city became an inspiration in the media, like movies and video games. That being said, it seemed like there were working families who still tried to live a normal life, like household chores, kids doing homework, etc. I looked up in Google and was curious about this location.

Kowloon such a cool location to have this game in. i played shenmue and in shenmue 2, you stay in Kowloon for a while, its so cool all the staked buildings so close to eachother. I wanna see the place in real life💗

Kowloon is an actual city and it looks like a time capsule ( I'm talking borderline post-apocalyptic steampunk setting). Apparently, the town has no building regulations that the reisdents can randomly start to build in empty crevices of the town, making the growth of the town unpredictable and almost life-like. Like it grows organically and it's very interesting. There are constant pipe leaks due to the unrestricted building and hanging out was a common sight. There is a junji ito comic about a place like this, but I couldn't remember the name sadly. The game actually did so well capturing that claustrophobic and chaotic atmosphere. The shadings are top notch! Some jumpscares feels cheap though. I wish they made the story more interesting.
