Getting a glass of water from Starbucks for free is absolutely NOT wrong and nothing to be ashamed of. I think everyone has the right to clean water and if you need to get some at Starbucks or other food places, there's nothing wrong with that. Yes, those employees are working there, but they are getting payed, and I don't think that grabbing a cup and filling it with water is going to burden them so much that anyone needs to feel bad.

I'm one of those people that struggle to afford to have 2 meals a day and most of the time I can only spend about 50p on food per day so this video really hit home for me. I also grew up in poverty so I'm used to not even having 1 meal a day so we used to get creative when our parents didn't have enough money to spend on food and one way we managed to stay somewhat coherent is by melting a small amount of butter or margerine and mixing a teaspoon of sugar into it. My parents would usually eat and then spend the rest of their money on alcohol so my little sister and I would have to try and find food from somewhere so one of the other things we would do is I would make friends with the dinner ladies at our primary school and explain that we had no lunch and then after everyone else had had their lunch the dinner ladies would give my sister and I the leftovers even if it was just a bowl of peas and carrots but they were really sweet so they also used to try and save us a little dessert so a couple of spoonfuls of custard and the crumbs from the cake trays in the custard. Genuinely I don't know how we survived with our parents always putting us last but I always found ways to get us food even if it meant having more sleepovers than normal at our friends, hell in the summer holidays we basically lived at one of our friends houses as her mum knew what we were going through so she would treat us like her own children and make sure that we were fed, she even used to give us vitamins and then before bed we were allowed milk or hot chocolate and a cookie so staying there was what I imagined staying in a 5 star hotel would be like 😂😂

as a muslim we fast for a month for the whole day to feel hungry and thursty as poor people do to feel them and donate and help the way we can to reduce their pain you experimanted it you own way , we're so lucky to be able to have food and water arround when we feel hungry! thanks rafa

Buy bulk bin foods. Also ketchup packets and boiling water can make a go to soup. Not great but it works. After all my bills are paid I have 50 cents a day to eat. I got use to eating once a week at most usually once every two weeks. It jacked up my body bad, however I found resourceful tricks like ketchup soup and finding wild edables. I can't complain about lack of food when I have a roof over my head and I'm not freezing to death like many do. I wouldn't trade having a warm safe place to sleep for food. Just have to improvise and be creative. Always save sauce packets, salt and pepper packets, honey packets ESPECIALLY can give you good energy and a safe source of non-processed sugars.

I have went 2 days straight without eating actually twice once when I was like 6 we went homeless for alittle and once like a year ago but now I'm able to eat when I want and I really am thankful and I donate food whenever I can because I've been there and know the feeling.

30 cents per day for food/utilities like toilet paper was all I could budget for my mom and I for several years after she had a stroke. Most days didn't even HAVE food. It's wild to me that so many people don't realize how expensive being alive is, or that the hunger they feel from missing a meal or two is what starving actually feels like. Breakfast : You can sometimes get FREE coffee packets at gas stations. Shopping malls have little food tasting stations. Lunch : Stater Brothers gives you one free sugar cookie. Rice is really cheap. Get a vegetable you can use for dinner and lunch. Asian takeout places have a lot of condiments. Make your own BBQ sauce by mixing ketchup and soy sauce. They also give samples, so you can ask for a couple ( going to many places for free protein )!! Dinner: Some places have a eco friendly market so you can scoop your own amount of beans, herbs, grains, etc. Get a good bargain of beans and finish that with your rice, potatoes are a nice touch. I don’t have any ideas for protein though.

I donated 20c to a person who was in need of help. I would have given him more but I’m still a kid and I only get $1 for doing heaps of chores. Edit: Thanks for all the likes! I’ve never had that much!

My mom has a stroke and I have to take care of her. I had to eat those 33c burritos at Wal-Mart for a whole day and two more days because I have no money. I had to settle for Top Ramen & Eggs. Sometimes I had to buy the $2.98 smoked sausages in their frozen meat aisle to have some variety and more importantly. Spam was a luxurious item if I had money. I always had to get the knock off brands. For example, it says "Great Value" on it. I'm so thankful for Wal-Mart for having those awesome deals. Sometimes if you're like me and you only have $7.48 in your bank account, those "Great Value" knock offs are a life saver...!! They have so many knock offs it hecka cool. XD

In 8 days, I will be having surgery to fix the remaining wound and will finally get to eat again... I truly understand where you're coming from! 8 days and counting ... then my 2 year diet will end! Ramen is about 25cents, could've bought 4 packs of that. Also, at least here in the US, at Walmart you can buy cans of veggies and fruit for like 30cents. I've been able to get about a week's worth of groceries, breakfast lunch and dinner for 2 people for about $15. It's definitely possibly when you're in a tough spot

Love you, but wow, I can't believe how few people haven't been in that situation, an eye opener for someone that used to work 10 hour days and only treat myself to food every 2 days (frozen from the supermarket) broccoli and mashed potatoes, every 2 days (frozen broccoli £1.15 potatoes £80p ) fed me for 1 week. So much more appreciative for what I have achieved now, because this video really made me think about how easy most have it now
