etro was trying to help everyone but even though she tried she only made things worse, she gave caius her heart so he could protect yuel but the pain of seeing her die again and again broke his heart, she released lightning and the others from crystal but doing this caused lightning to go to valhalla and this caused all the yuels in the past to die

Caius: "You must kill me Noel" Also Caius: "You cannot kill me. Not now"

The 13 trilogy gave us Caius. That’s reason enough alone to love it. His theme is sooooo good! All their themes are soooo good!

You know what's the real funny thing about the ending? Caius tells them numerous times that if they kill him it will bring the destruction of the world and yet they act surprised when it happens.

I actually prefer XIII-2 to either of the others. So much more polished of a game in all respects...and playing as Serah just feels right.

13-2 is definitely The Empire Strikes back of the trilogy. I love it the most of the three, and it sets up the next one with a very dark story and ending.

I love how Caius theme plays after the ending. It signified that he actually won and everything he said would happen was true. This was actually satisfying when I first saw it since he actually was not a true villain!!!

13 Trilogy, (13-2 mostly) is my favorite Final Fantasy game, and it saddens me that people don't really like it. 13-2 was the first Final Fantasy game I fully played and dearly enjoyed. Serah Farron honestly made me love the game as a whole, and all of the characters tbh. I lost count how many times I have rewatched the 13 Trilogy games.

If you actually notice, when the bell chimes at the ending, it chimes 13 times

everyone acts like a gangster until they fight caius and hear his theme. That's when you start questioning your life. Caius the ONLY FF villain to actually win in the end.

The ending shocked me too, but it was actually the fal’Cie’s goal. Allow me to explain. The fal’Cie throughout the first game were forcing their l’Cie to kill in order to open Etro’s gate to bring back their maker, which was stopped. Caius didn’t do that, instead he forced Noel to destroy the gate completely. Now the maker can return but the chaos of the unseen realm was let loose as well. I hope this clears things up!

This is my favorite out of the 13 series. The music, action, and character development was so ahead of its time. I came to love Sarah. Such a girly girl, but fights just as hard as everyone else to save the world (or try to). She had a fantastic arc.

I remember when I first experienced the ending of 13-2, I was like "What? OH MY GOD NO! WHAT?? WHY!!?? HOW!!?????" I had so many feels, and then I realized " they must be hinting at another game" and then it happened with Lightning Returns

13 had some issues but 13-2 (as someone that favors the 7-10) was great. It felt like a better 'game' rather than a corridor full of cut scenes

The ending of this game messed me up for a little while. 13-2 was a game that kept me playing for a while after beating it due to the ability to rewind levels, plus the void dlc and alternate endings. But it was a weird feeling knowing that no matter what, Serah dies and the world ends.

This game literally put my emotions in a roller coaster ride back in 2011 and it still does now!

I'm very glad you liked it, it is one of my favorite Fantasy games as well. It's actually nice seeing there are still a lot of people who appreciate and love this game, because there is a lot of hate and criticism that this game has received.

Alas . the obtrusionn of the linear timeline within thirteen 2 was ultimately a brave twist of everything that corresponds to even kingdom hearts for its own . for theories and such involving alternate timelines. I'm jabbering cuz im excited 13-2 is bombastic !!!

Honestly I really didn't like 13 for a number of different reasons but after a couple month of my friends not shutting up about this game I eventually bought it and massively fell in love with it, it is no exaggeration to say that it is one of my top 3 Final Fantasy's. While the ending did leave a sour taste in mouth I actually really liked it, nothing came out of nowhere, everything was foreshadowed and subtly hinted at and the sense of defeat coupled with the knowledge there would be another game to finish up the story actually just got me hyped for what was to come. It's just a shame Lightning Returns fell kinda flat for me.

My local game store, GameMania, has a 3 used 360/PS3 games for €10,- deal so I ordered FF XIII, FF XIII-2 and Soul Calibur IV for 360 (really had to get them on 360 because 1. Xbox Series X will support the games in launch with X enhancements and 2 I’m a sucker for multidisc games). I’m gonna pick them up in Tuesday, I’m excited!

13-2 is the only final fantasy game i've played and i loved it but i was so confused and i want to play more final fantasy but i dont know where to jump in

I love the XIII series as well (ranking LR > XIII > XIII-2), what I love about XIII-2 is Caius. He may just be the best FF Series Villain, one of the few villains in the series that actually won and not just random bad guy that wants to destroy the world just because he's the main baddie, he had an actual reason to. But one of my gripes about XIII-2 is the story, it's kinda a personal thing, I'm not fond of stories just transitions into this time travel arc (when everyone is doing it, i mean just look at the Avengers....). But overall, much love to the XIII series

I was really loving this game and played about half of it, but the PC performance was so terribly laggy I couldn't take it anymore so I stopped and haven't been motivated to play it again in a long time. Some day I will though.

There's a "happy ending" among the many endings in the game that isn't cinematic. If you managed to complete that particular timeline, you'd see what actually went wrong with the main/"canon" timeline. Basically the "what if". I hope you were able to experience some of the other endings.

If there's one thing square enix can do its make gorgeous games and cinematic flair.

13-2 is the best out of the 3 for me followed by LR, 13 for me was torture to play and I feel like 13-2 fixed most of the issues 13 had
