Insomniac have always excelled at iteration; taking the foundation of past games and improving them leaps and bounds to make the experience even better. They've been making Ratchet & Clank games for over 20 years that all "play the same" but always throw in some new mechanic and an abundance of new weapons to play around with. That looks like the case here too. I felt like while Miles Morales' game wasn't a huge mechanical change, it did have alot of small changes that improved on the 2018 spidey game; specifically enemy behavior, powers and gadgets that work better in tandem with your moveset (instead of just goon deleters) and no civilian stealth missions.

I just thought of something... Kraven is in the church with Peter, while he is wearing the black suit, which is seizing from the sound of the bell(s), right? So - and this would be insane, but - what if Kraven is secretly going to be Venom? I mean, they have not actually confirmed the identity of Venom, right?

I remember seeing the initial reveals for Spider-Man 2 and people were getting pissy that the map was the same. It's Spider-Man. He does his super-heroing in New York City. They wouldn't even have to expand the map at all, they could've just done the same map with some buildings being changed and I would've been happy. The setting doesn't just magically change for a sequel, New York City is what works for the character and that will NEVER change.

Looks nice, Miles Morales burnt me out of Spiderman but I feel like enough time has passed that I'll be ready for this one when it comes to PC. But the next game needs to be set somewhere else, only so many times you can see the same environment reused and I think 3 times is enough.

Current Game of the Year Predictions for The Game Awards: 1. Like a Dragon Gaiden (No one's going here, yet, I assume for exactly the reason I AM: It's the biggest, and most consistently visible, AAA franchise that hasn't gotten a full GOTY nod yet. So I think it's probably in. And, yeah, I'm also going HERE: If it's in, it WINS.) 2. Resident Evil 4 Remake 3. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 4. Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom 5. Super Mario Bros. Wonder 6. Baldur's Gate III (Surprised? Don't be. I'm putting this this low because this CAN'T win. Remember how everyone with taste was screaming for Hades in 2020 and it went to Last of Us Part II anyways? I've seen people going "Oh, it's because of the fan vote" and...yeah, they don't get how stupidly weak 10% power will almost always be. The only race that was probably close enough that I can actually imagine the fan vote might have been the difference maker was Elden Ring vs. GoW: Ragnarok.)

I can't even describe how sad I am that I won't get a chance to play this game. I got the special edition PS4 pro when the first came out. Was super tempted to dip into my rent money when they announced the PS5s for this game. Not that stupid though.
