I Ran my FIRST 7 SECOND Pass Testing the 1XX Proof 55!! BIG Step! 🙌🏼

A BIG move in the Quest for the Sixes journey!! I ran my FIRST 7 second pass ever... and it was about 10 mph faster than I have ever ran. We spent all day dialing the car in. Even though we made 2 passes on Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0, the car wasn't totally set up or figured out. We had our friend Ryan Witte come out to help us tune the 55. NEVER before have I been able to focus on driving and not doing it all, which usually includes tuning. Having him there was a HUGE help. We made 6 partial passes. Then 2 1/4 mile attempts. The car was a handful on the top end. And it was intimidating. But I finally had a good feeling about it and on the last pass sent in hopes of seeing a 7 on the board. (Also, we added a wing once we got back which has really helped stabilize the car.) There's still a long way to go in the journey, but dang is it a fun one! Thank you guys for staying on it.

I recently started watching Steve Morris when Cleetus recommended him. I saw his video yesterday tell us to check out your video. I had never seen you before. I started watching the beginning of this build (38 videos quest for 6's) I have been marathon watching till now. I know I'm 2-3 years late to the party but congratulations. I got tears in my eyes I am so happy for you and your family. I can't wait to watch all your content. I had some notifications from other channels I follow but I was prioritizing my viewing time and unsubscribed to 40 KZfaq channels this morning. I just love this. You seem so lucky to grow up in that family. You guys have so much talent.

You were absolutely right to lift when that back end went squirrelly on you. "It doesn't feel right" in the pilot's chair is the best sensor you've got on board.

Hey Alex, Your father has to be so proud of his little girl, young woman, at what she has become. Your following in his footsteps. As beautiful as you are, no one would expect you to turn a wrench, let alone be a dragster driver. Just to look at you, people would think you were a model. When it comes down to it, your the beauty behind the wheel. Good luck in all you do with your father, family, friends and behind the wheel. Congratulations Alex! That was so cool to watch. Just a bit of history here, I'm an old guy who's been following drag racing since the mid seventies. In fact I used to spend a lot of weekends at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey back . A buddy of mine used to work at a speed shop and he'd get 4 day passes to the Summernationals each July. Back then the Pro Stock class was running in the 8 second range with naturally aspirated 500 cubic inch big blocks. I saw many a pass by Bob Glidden, Don Nicholoson, Lee Shepard and Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins. To watch a street legal car make a 7 pass was......well cool, waiting on the sixes!

You don't have to apologize for lifting Alex! A new more powerful race car and a smart driver going by the way the car feels is safest way. The best drivers go by feel right. Testing your new ride and the drivers limits is great to watch!

Alex did the right thing by letting off each time. It was squirrelly for sure. She is a great driver and could feel an issue. She would have wrecked it if she didn't let off. Experience let her know it wasn't right. GOOD JOB ALEX. Happy for the 7.

I don't think you need to apologize for video content, the more videos you produce the more money you make. Your decision of course and may look like a cop out but you already have enough sponsers from how talented your dad is, i dont think it even needs to be said. Congrats Alex! So glad to see you comfortable in the '55. But it's like you said, if it doesn't feel right. Always trust you gut, no matter the car or situation. I really enjoy watching you guys build and race and tune, every aspect is interesting. Pretty cool that you have such a network of folks that are able to get those specialized parts for you. We understand 100%. If you don't take a break, you will break. When I was in my 20s I spent over a year working a 7/12 shift welding. It was an hour and a half from home. So up at 315 AM drive clock in at 5 clock out at 530 get home about 7 PM. Living alone no help doing laundry or chores. I regret nothing but I do believe that year or so took years off my life. And congrats on the 7!!! Yall will get r dialed in and get that 6 soon, I'm sure.

Alex please remember one thing.... Hot Rods are like cats they're your best friend until they're not. And when a hot rod decides to bite u, it can be very serious. Always respect the horsepower and never try to be its master, just its controller.
