mr1upz has a crack at ranking Friendship evolution Pokemon, or Happiness Evolution Pokemon ranked. Since Pokemon Scarlet or Violet seem to have zero, it appears as though this video will forever be the definitive Pokemon Friendship Evolution Tier List. To me it seems very obvious who the best evolutions are here, especially when you have some of the best Eevee Evolutions all the way down to the friendship pokemon you wanna cut ties with. No chance an evil specimen like Swoobat could be the result of a happiness pokemon.
Can't believe I have to actually take care of these specimens like they're actual pets and aren't just concealed weapons. Which of the stubborn little pocket demons will reign supreme...?

@@legopizza8063 ⁠ hold up, there’s an actual good idea there. Not in two-stagers, but definitely single stage Pokémon. Trying to rank which Pokémon are most worthy of being single stage status and which could’ve used some filling out for a pre-evo or an evo. Sure there’s probably an unrealistic ton of them but that hasn’t stopped him before.

@@solarstorm5242 Its a pokemon whose entire gimmick is being a plant that pretends to be a bug. If it was actually a bug it wouldn't have to pretend, so i'd just be... A plant bug, which is still cool, especially with the sick design, but it'd be less interesting Imo. It's the same reason Sudowoodo shouldn't be a grass type.

I just looked up if vampire bats are considered venomous because of this comment, and the answer is that yes, they are. It isn't used to kill their prey, but their saliva is toxic (unlike the Komodo dragon funnily enough, that's a myth, that thing isn't venomous, it just overpowers its prey). Fun fact though, mammals are probably ancestrally venomous, placentals and marsupials just all lost it (and then a very select few developed it again, like shrews or a slow lori, which is a primate). The platypus, a monotreme, still has the same venomous spur seen in extinct non-therian (so neither placental nor marsupial) mammals from the Mesozoic.

Fun fact: Buneary is one of the harder friendship evolutions as unlike any other wild pokemon you can normally find in the grass, it has a base friendship of 0. This thing hates you from day 1, which is the same as pretty much all legendaries

rabbits are shy creatures that are also constantly trying to be aware of everything surrounding them because they know everything wants a piece of their juicy meat. makes sense it wouldnt be so easy to earn their trust and friendship considering it probably thought you just wanted to eat it. (and nowdays people can refer to "eat it" as in both ways)

Lopunny being friendship-based is actually a kinda logical evolution method. Bunnies are normally very terrified and scared of humans when you first get them as pets, hence the 0 base friendship when captured and naturally learning Frustration. Then by becoming friendly with it fast you get to evolve it into Lopunny who naturally learns Return if you do it fast enough. Out of all friendship evolutions, Lopunny is the one with that mechanic most built into its design. It’s hard being a Lopunny fan because everyone always says one of the same things. I like Lopunny because of my attachment from playthroughs using one (especially Ultra Moon who carried earlygame) and it’s pretty cool Mega, not because I’m some horny degenerate child on the internet.

Yeah it's hard convincing people that I like Gardevoir because of gen 3 and Lopunny has one of the best mega that's not too broken. I still use Gardevoir in every game it's available in because it literally learns Psychic,Calm Mind,Moonblast by level 30. Now the same thing is happening for liking Meowscarada lmao.

To be honest, you're better off capturing a Riolu at Santalune cause Game Freak added 3 guaranteed max IV for any mon from the undiscovered egg group ... which Riolu is.

also i just remembered BW2 had a catching spot for riolus before the very first gym and if you grinded for the friendship you baaically had a over 500 BST steel type mon at the first gym who could also stab SE the first gym. i mean its cool for monotype challenges but bruh

I personally feel like leavanny and swoobat should've been placed a little higher mostly cause of how quickly you can evolve them relative to other friendship evolutions in gen 5. Castelia City (the 3rd gym in the game) has an NPC you can find pretty easily who'll massage one of your pokemon once per day, and considering that this town is located directly after the route where you first find sewaddle, there's a ton of intention put behind speeding up its evolution (and to a lesser extent, woobat). Every time i've played gen 5, if i had a leavanny on my team it was always the 1st to fully evolve, and that kind of speed compared to the ages other friendship evolutions tend to take I think lends it to being a much better designed friendship evolution.

ok but think about it, Woobat being easy to evolve is only a + if you want to use Woobat to begin with. Which my extensive time around pokemon fans seems to suggest is not a very large group.

You'd only want Swoobat in Pokémon Go battles. In the main line games, assuming you even get it outside gen 5, it falls off early on past the first three gyms

I mean, Gen 5 was initially supposed to be a reboot of Gen 1, so it makes sense there are a lot of Pokémon similar to Gen 1 Pokémon and their future Gen evolutions. At least Swoobat has enough things like being psychic instead of poison I think can still make it a viable option

I enjoy buneary. A solid normal type pick and if i get it to mega I have a solid fighting type. Normal is overall an adaptive type and what can I say one carried me once. Also turtles, rabbits and birds have a place in my heart.

this base stat wouldnt be so bad if it had good distribution and either its move learnset or ability were really good. but considering this mofo is a 1% encounter chance on one specific part of a single area in its debut game, im pretty sure they only gave james a chimecho as his dream pokemon so people would know it exists, and that chimecho is probably the sole reason most people like him.

Crobat, the friendship Eeveelutions, Silvally & Lucario are the evolutions worth the trust you invested in them, but Crobat especially since you get a fairly early Flying type with a starter's base total.

crobats type combo is also a pretty good defensive one with 3 double resists and an immunity to ground, that and the double resist to fighting helps in a lot of matchups. the fact hes also the only pokemon (line) with said typing is also unique. its problematic that both rock and steel resist both of its stabs though.

So to answer the blood question: You can buy blood at hospitals…for $180-300 per pint. Or you can drink a crap ton of water with some friends, have Golbat feast on all your blood so you don’t drain too much from one person, and get Crobat.

btw the way you get blood is through making a connection w your local butchery. you can stock up on the blood of pig, cow, etc. buying small amounts of it is how owners of pet leeches feed them. so yeah, you could probably deal with your golbat's diet by dropping by a butcher's shop.

The only method that doesn't make sense to evolve pokemon is trade. Friendship, stones, specific items, leveling up all make sense but trading would just increase the bonds between trainers and not pokemon.
