John maybe when you play loopz play with an emulator that has the rewind capability that way if you accidentally drop it before you're ready to you can just rewind it and rotate it instead. Because yes I like the game too but also found that part very frustrating but thought it was a cool concept

@@quandaleprogg don't bother to ask him to do anything cuz he seems to do what he wants to do I asked months ago to do culture brain because I thought they had some unique games and they blended some unique genres together and would be an interesting list to showcase some games that people may not know about. he didn't seem interested so I would assume making request to John is a futile task. I also asked several different times and several different posts of his just didn't seem interested which is okay it's his channel I'm not mad about it I'm just saying it's probably useless to ask him to do things because he has his own agenda.

I love the little bits of nostalgia narrative that you throw in here, like the teachers going on strike and you renting Mad Max from the grocery store. Part of the reason why I love this channel so much is that you go back and reminisce about playing these games and that takes us all back to simpler times. Good stuff man.

@ostiariusalpha

That's Riggs for ya'! NES Conan is not nearly as good as Myth on the C64 though; lower frame rate and less responsive controls quickly turn a really good game into a really bad one.
@heavysystemsinc.
@heavysystemsinc. 3 жыл бұрын
@@robqg It's common because console and 8bit computer games aren't exactly in the same ballpark of style. Uridium doesn't feel out of place at all on the c64, however, when it came out, you had Guardian Legend, Zanac, Star Soldier, etc. and so it very much was like, 'what is this?' and it's very offputting. In other words, on the NES, there's a homogenous feel to a lot of the games, for better or worse. I'm always surprised to see the Camerica/Codemasters games get bad ratings too. I personally love Ultimate Stuntman, but it frequently gets treated like it's Action52, which is beyond hyperbole and beyond the slamming that game deserves. I enjoyed the Dizzy games, but they also get shat on relentlessly by US NES fans. As an American who's actively looking into European games scene, especially on the 8bit computers (I have a Spectrum NEXT coming in soon...whoot!), I will always side with the 8bit micro community on NES games based on their games getting too much hate. They're a victim of circumstance. I will say, however, Infiltrator really isn't that good and I'm surprised it even got a port OR a sequel...good idea, bad execution if you ask me!
@JoypadDivison
@JoypadDivison 3 жыл бұрын
@@robqg Well... IMO Myth isn't any good on the C64 either (I played it back in the day... on cartridge). European devs were just waaay behind the Japanese (and US) devs back in the 80s and 90s when it came to these types of games, with no sense of pacing or design. Enemy killed, immediately respawn it and make it beeline for the player... there were so many games just like that on the C64; just terrible garbage... Myth was a little bit better than that and it looked good which made it seem good in comparison. System 3 made some really great titles besides Myth though.

Fun fact about Days of Thunder: It had a bug in it and it was impossible to finish first place. To get anywhere near the top you'd have to avoid pit stops. Seems it wasn't thoroughly play tested and the AI is not susceptible to damage and wear and tear as the player is. You can never finish 1st place. I can't believe this game was even released.

Love that you include Leo and Lily in your vids so from Dad to Dad, that's so great to see. I am enjoying this series immensely as a PSP hacker with emulators; I love seeing your opinion on these games and I've definitely gone searching for roms after watching these. You shed light on games I have forgotten about or never knew about (oh god, please don't say hidden gems). Ok, jokes at Jason's expense aside; I wanted to say thank you for this series. Perhaps give Sega developers the same treatment when you run out of NES games (master system or Genesis...or both! More videos, yay). @JohnRiggs, there were actually two Nintendo licensed four player devices for the NES/FDS, and the other one that you did not mention was called the FourScore. However, the FDS (Famicom) had its own four player adapter system that was called the Famicom 4-Players Adapter. I also found out that, since you were mentioning that 720 was giving you fits with the NES Controller, Bandai (now Bandai Namco) made a little controller enhancement adapter that works for both NES and FDS systems that is called simply the Super Controller. I also found something else out, namely, that if you get a special controller that is made by a company that is called Konix, namely, a controller that is called Speedking, it might make a workable workaround for playing Elite on an NTSB-U NES system, as it is a controller that is specifically designed to slow down game play. Finally, you can find out more about NES/FDS accessories by going to nintendo.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Entertainment_System_accessories .

I found Mad Max at a thrift store for a dollar about five or six years ago and got it becuase I remember being about 11 or 12 and my mom offered to buy me one of the $20 games at Target and I picked Metroid but right next to it was Mad Max. I had never heard of Mad Max before but a few years later found that movie in a $5 VHS bin and fell in love with the series. While the NES game is not as good as the highly underrated 2015 Mad Max game on PS4, Xbox One and PC I still have no regrets over picking Metroid.

Not to mention if you run out of publishers or whatever you Use for these videos you could do vids about certain franchises to get people who play newer releases of games in the franchise getting into the older games. Of course people know about stuff like Mario and Zelda but a franchise video of ratings on the series would be some cool content

The only games I've ever played from mindscape are: Captain Planet and the Planeteers: I rented this game as a kid because I was a big fan of all saturday morning cartoons but I grew frustrated with it pretty quickly because of its massive spike in difficulty. The furthest I ever got was the captain planet level from the second mission in the forested area and I highly doubt I will ever pick it up and play it again. Paperboy: Just a timeless classic and it's a great pick up and play game that you really don't need to invest a lot of time in order to enjoy it properly. Paperboy 2: Pretty much the same thoughts as Paperboy. When I look at the entire minscape library, I think the only games i will probably go back to and play are probably paperboy 1 and paperboy 2 because the rest of the game library I really have no interest in trying but another stellar entry for your series.

A shame you ranked Mule so low, that game is actually quite fun, especially in multiplayer.

Gauntlet II would have been a good addition to the games with speech as well. One of my favorite NES speech lines is when you kill a dragon in the game it will say "I've never seen such bravery"

I never realize that Mindscape published a bunch of Atari Games' stuff. Roadblasters was my jam in the arcade. As with a lot of Atari Games properties (Im trying real hard to not say Atari Games' games), the Lynx has a great port.

11:33 “You discovered a mine” after being turned into a jar of Smuckers... c’mon- that’s brilliant! That’s some Sierra level death commentary, that should bump Infiltrator up to a B at least

That Conan game looks an awful lot like Myth: History in the Making, which was doing the 'rounds on all the old 8-bit computers at the time.

Yup. Just a reskinned version of Myth, but without the epic Jereon Tel soundtrack.
