I love how Anne Rice adds queer people in her books. The dads of Alex and Julie having been lovers in the past isn't for plot. Just backstory.

I think I only attempt to read two of Ann Rice's books the first was the one were Lestat meets Satan and the other was the first book in her sleeping beauty trilogy and DNF both for some reason. This one sounds more like a strange sex comedy

Love your recap!! Although a very different tone this reminds me of Ilona Andrews novels, everything happening all at once, non-stop. I read the mummy years ago but never completed the trilogy, excited to see what you think. ❤

I so very much appreciate you reading these books. I like them but the language is......um....I don't like how she writes at all. But I like the story.
