In This video episode we continue our voyage south in the Cog. Fort Aestrin region with Mount Malefic is long behind us over the horizon to the North. We are carrying a deck full of dates as mission cargo and trade goods.
We have enough fish to eat so don't need to catch any more. We have sight of land through our spyglass and so don't need to navigate by stars or with the sundial compass and chronometer.
We do get a bit turned around, fighting with the wind and weather and trying to master the art of tacking. On our way south with the wind in our sails from a storm, we don't see a sandbar directly ahead of us and we end up crashing into it and running aground. We manage to free ourselves and using the square sails we sail backwards in reverse before altering them with the winches and continuing our sea voyage. We eventually arrive at Dragon Cliffs having seen many beautiful sunsets and rainbows and there waiting for us is the Junk, which we will buy in the next episode!
It's still a fun and challenging game but I think the Cog loves us now!
One day we'll get the brig, so we better be ready!
That might take quite a bit of gold!
